Review | Maple Holistics Shampoo and Conditioner*

If you remember a few months back I ran a giveaway of Maple Holistics Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner as part of their #SummerofGiveaways, well now Summer is over and I've had a fair chance to test the shampoo and conditioner I kindly received, time to share my thoughts.

Tea Tree Special Formula Shampoo Silk 18 Conditioner Maple Holistics

As I've mentioned before on Angel Flicks, I suffer with a really flaky scalp for no real reason. It disappears if I dye my hair but when it's natural, it's in full force. I have no reason for it, it's like my cradle cap as a baby never left me as an almost 20 year old woman. Some shampoos make it so much worse or make my scalp oily when it tries to sort out the dryness - I don't appreciate that as I've just about trained my hair to only need washing every 3 days. Maple Holistics Natural Tea Tree Shampoo for Dandruff* is the best shampoo I have ever tried. That is a big statement but for my hair and scalp, there is no defeating it! I have the 8oz bottle that sells for $13.95 (£9.05) that has lasted me since the summer as you only need a 50p size blob to do a whole head. The scent is a lavendar and tea tree combination, considering I'm not the greatest fan of lavendar, it doesn't smell too bad; plus it feels a lot cleaner and it is actually helping my scalp!

"Clears away dead skin and soothes scalp blemishes. Contains over 98 all natural compounds to promote scalp health."

Tea Tree Special Formula Shampoo Silk 18 Conditioner Maple Holistics

Silk 18 Conditioner* ($12.97/£8.40 for 8oz)  is a vanilla scented treatment for damaged or dry hair. I use it in combination with the tea tree shampoo and it is amazing. The scent makes the conditioner seem much creamer and gives your a lovely relaxing finish to your hair washing routine. It contains argan, jojoba and natural keratin (all of Maple Holistics products are vegan friendly!) to help make your ends super soft. My hair is quick thick and can get tangled quite easily but this makes it easy to detangle after a wash and easier to style.

I couldn't recommend Maple Holistics more highly as an all natural, cruelty free and vegan brand! Keep an eye out for my review on some of their skincare coming soon!

Lifestyle | Joules Design a Welly Competition

Wellies are almost a necessity in the UK whether it be Summer or Winter, rain mud and snow all like to take their grasp on our roads and countrysides! Joules are running a competition for budding designers, doodlers and welly lovers to design their next charity welly!

The lucky winner will not only have their welly produced (all proceeds going to Charitably Joules to send to Joules' charity patners) but will also win a Luxury Forest Holiday worth £5000! (now that is exciting!!) I've stayed at Forest Holidays twice and I must admit, they are amazing! The winner will have 3 nights in a Golden Oak Treehouse plus lots more (so I'm guessing there might be some treats in there for the lucky designer!)

To submit an entry go to the Joules competition page. There are also 10 runner up prizes of a £250 gift card. So if you're feeling creative why not give it a go! Competition closes 4th December and you can input up to 5 different entries.

Lifestyle | #SuffolkBloggerMeet

On Saturday, I drove to Bury St Edmunds to enjoy an afternoon at the Suffolk Blogger Meet organising by Daisy (Daisydaisyxxo) and it was amazing! There were so many local bloggers there and Daisy had done a brilliant job at organising and hosting the event.

Suffolk Blogger Meet

There were stands from a few brands including Odylique, The Charity Candle Company and Ivy Joan. I had not heard of any of these brands before and it was great to be able to see, sniff and try some of their products.
Ivy Joan Suffolk Blogger Meet

Daisy had organised lots of lovely bits for us bloggers to try out while we were there including Hotel Chocolat chocolates by the dozen, marshmallow lollies, candles and some really lovely drinks from Life Tonic (available here, I've already ordered some!) as well as a lovely lady called Lucy who carried out henna tattoos on people. I wish I could have had one but college makes it a no no however Helen had a cute wrist piece done!

I was really concerned about arriving on my own as I'd seen on Twitter using the #SuffolkBloggerMeet quite a few girls had gone in pairs or in a group and the only girl I knew was Daisy however I was pleasantly surprised when Helen from RaggyDoll and me got on really well and had a really good time talking for the whole afternoon!

There was an amazing raffle where I was a lucky girl and managed to win a huge box of Hotel Chocolat dark chocolates and a Benefit Cosmetics makeup bag filled with goodies! I also won one of the first subscription boxes from YooHoo! Mail - a brand new stationary (gift cards, post cards, prints) subscription box - filled with lots of beautiful cards!

YooHoo Mail Suffolk Blogger Meet

Overall, it was a great afternoon and it's going to take me months to get through all the lovely goodies Daisy organised for us all! Thank you and can't wait for my next event now!

Were you there? Let me know in the comments! Toodle pip till next time! xxx

Review | Fabulous Eyes with Seventeen*

Seventeen Falsifeye HD! Mascara Lacquer Liner

I was very lucky to be selected from a group of bloggers on the Seventeen Blogger Network to review a couple of products to trial and review. As a liquid eyeliner fanatic, I own 11 opened eyeliners..., I was very pleased to receive the Seventeen Lacquer Liner*.

Seventeen Falsifeye HD! Mascara Lacquer Liner

Liquid eyeliner tends to be a precise job, needing ultimate concentration to ensure that you're not turned into a panda by the time you've finished evening the wings! Fine tips are the way forward if you are wanting a sharp wing that an angel would be proud of! Lacquer Liner* (£3.99) is a wet look finish, my favourite as it makes the eyes fresher. The liner itself is a tiny, yet it makes me think of the Louboutin makeup line with the sharp stiletto design. As you can see from the photos, the wing you can create is amazing! I did this freehand (I've never tried the tape trick) and I'm honestly quite proud of it! Seventeen promises up to 24 hour wear, I got to 14 before I took it off, I'm very pleased with that!

Seventeen Falsifeye HD! Mascara Lacquer Liner

Mascara is a never ending battle to find your holy grail, I want separated false lash effect lashes that give the volume without clumpy. I'm picky and if you clump on me, you're going to the back of the drawer, never to be found again. Seventeen Falsifeye HD! Mascara* (£6.99) has a plastic brush with small spikes instead of bristles, I have been converted to plastic brushes for their separation skills!

Seventeen Falsifeye HD! Mascara Lacquer Liner

The packaging has this really satisfying click when you screw the wand back in, not only does it assure you it won't dry out but for a makeup hoarder/ obsessor, the same details mean a lot! These two have become daily essentials and from a girl who hasn't tried too much from Seventeen in the recent years, they have seriously upped their game!

Review | Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipsticks*

My name is Mary-Ann and I have a Makeup Revolution addiction. Ever since they first came on the beauty scene, I have been in love with their products. I can't help it. With new innovative products, fantastic dupes and actually affordable prices - they just can't go wrong.

One of the latest ranges, Unicorns Unite, has been expanding from the original palette of Unicorns vs Mermaids and now through to lipsticks any unicorn fan would love to wear. They are 5 shades in the range and I was very fortunate to be sent them to review for you lovely angels.

Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipstick

The first lipstick that caught my eye was Pink Myth, a pink toned red that comes across bright and creamy on the lips. I love matching this shade to a simple cat flick or with a neutral/ silverly eye. As soon as I opened the tube, I smelt refreshers sweets, makes a change from the traditional vanilla scent of lipsticks. This lipstick is what I would say the most wearable day to day shade or as my friend would say 'less hypothermic' oh boys, they don't all understand the amazement of lip colours do they?! :P
Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipstick

I love grey or greige lips at the moment, I think they are the perfect nudeish shades for autumn rather than rocking a berry lip if you prefer cool tones so these two shades also drew my attention. Throne, is a very shimmery metallic finish giving a cool toned lavender look on the lips. I found this draws the look together if you have a dark or bright eye look. It's not as pigmented on the lips, although I think if you paired this with a purple lip liner, which unfortunately I don't own it would look amazing! Legend is a darker shade that has more pigmentation. I believe that because there is slightest less metallic finish. Legend makes a great alternative to a bright purple lip and with Halloween round the corner, this colour will suit everyone whatever skin tone!

Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Lipstick
Magical, Horn in Magic, Throne, Legend and Pink Myth

The last two shades are the most out there, I love them but I can't see me wearing them :( ! Horn of Magic is a metallic sea turquoise, that would look amazing on darker skin tones. I find it doesn't have much colour to it but overlaid over a white/ blue green lip liner it would look amazing. My lips are just very pink! The final shade, Magical, is a metallic royal blue. It is more pigmented (probably due to the deeper shade) and has purple undertones to it. The swatch of this lipstick is amazing and if it was possible for a cream eyeshadow to be this shade, I'd buy enough to last a lifetime.

Available on the Makeup Revolution website for £1 each or all 5 for £4.
What are your thoughts on the range? Toodle pip till next time! xxx

Haul | ASDA Bargain Shampoo Haul

Budget bargains are where my heart lies in the beauty world. Who can miss out on an offer? I hate if I don't have enough money and amazing deal is on, 3 for 2 at Superdrug is killing me as I can't resist yet I have too!

I was in Peterborough back in the Summer (this post is just over a month late.. whoops) and I couldn't resist picking up a few bargains while doing a food shop in ASDA. I find supermarkets the best place to pick up branded shampoos at the cheapest price. Best own brand shampoo would be the Superdrug shampoo for coloured hair, it's amazing. This whole haul came to a grand total of £5, and they are all full sized - the Tresemmé is the smaller bottle but it is still 200ml!

Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo Garnier Ultimate Blends Herbal Essence Naked 0%volume shampoo

I absolutely loved the Garnier Ultimate Blends shampoo from 'The Silky Smoother' range (now £1.87 for 400ml). It smells amazingly of papaya and makes my hair smell amazing. I used this shampoo when my hair was bleached blonde and it did help to control the frizz and help restore some of the goodness into my hair! I'm so glad I picked up some more to try and help my painfully slow growing out hair... 1 year down, 2 to go it appears!

Tresemme Deep Cleansing Shampoo Garnier Ultimate Blends Herbal Essence Naked 0%volume shampoo

I'm really struggling with my hair and scalp at the moment. You may have read in my other posts that I've been training my hair not to need washing as often, it is working but I find the build up of dry shampoo and oils need a good deep cleanse every couple of weeks. The Tresemmé deep cleansing shampoo is really worth the money and has helped my scalp out as well.

The last shampoo, Herbal Essences Clearly Naked 0% Volumising Shampoo,  I can't review for you unfortunately, I picked this up for my mum to make up for the 3 for £5, which was well hidden that it covered the full sized shampoos too, and I've never tried it as I have enough natural volume of my own!
