Review | Treaclemoon The Honeycomb Secret Body Butter*

It's officially Autumn in my eyes, it's windy, rainy and I don't think the sun will come out again in a hurry in the UK till next year. I find when the seasons change, I want to change my products, my makeup style as well as my outfits.

Treaclemoon are taking over my love for body products at the moment, the scents and cute packaging look so good in my bathroom and shower. I wish I had less stocked up so I could just order all the scents! I'm determined to try everyone (except Ginger as I hate hate hate it!). I was kindly sent the Marshmallow Bath and Shower Gel to review early on this year and Clare the lovely director sent me another product to try, thanks Clare!

Treaclemoon The Honeycomb Secret Body Butter

This body butter definitely smells of honeycomb, if you're a lover of Crunchie bars or blocks of honeycomb, the scent is identical. Treaclemoon, well done, you're spot on. You get an lot of product for your money with 250ml for £3.99 at Tesco. In texture, it's quite soft and bouncy that melts into your skin - meaning you don't need a lot of product unlike thicker formulas that use a lot of product as it doesn't spread easily over your body.

If you read my previous post on Treaclemoon, Marshmallow Hearts Bath & Shower Gel* review, you would have read about how Treaclemoon are working with the anti-bullying charity BulliesOut. I'm very proud to feature them on my blog as they stand for humans and animals too. All of the products are only tested on humans and paraben free.

Treaclemoon The Honeycomb Secret Body Butter

Treacle Moon are also continuing to give back, and say thank you to their customers by continuing their social media games for you to enjoy. On Facebook, (treaclemoonOfficial) keep an eye from the garden gnome to give you a chance to #Gnomenate a friend to get some gorgeous Treacle Moon products for themselves to pamper and relax.

Review | Schwarzkopf got2b All Star Styling Treatment*

Schwarzkopf got2b All Star Styling Treatment

Becoming a Schwarzkopf VIP was one of my proud moments of 2015, I love being able to try out and test their products are I haven't ever discovered one I'm unsure of! Schwarzkopf got2b All Star Styling Treatment* came through my letterbox last month and I've been giving it a good test to see if it is truly 10 in 1.

Schwarzkopf promises a fair bit with this release, and from what I can test, it's runs pretty true to cause! Heat protection is something you have to guess is in there, there is no real way to see if it is protecting your hair except after heat styling and checking for damage. After blow drying and straightening my hair, it felt smooth, soft and there was minimal frizz which is great. I tend to leave my hair to air dry as I am desperately growing it out to get it back to full health (11 months since I dyed my hair last :O ) but when I do dry my hair (when I'm in a hurry) this has become a staple in my routine.

Schwarzkopf got2b All Star Styling Treatment

I barely use any in my hair, which is just past my shoulders as I find that 1 good pump will be plenty to go through my mid-lengths to tips without feeling weighed down and I still get great results. got2b All Star Styling Treatment is available for £4.05 at Superdrug. What are you favourites from the got2b range?

Review | Autograph Contour Kit

While away in early July I saw on another beauty bloggers YouTube that she'd picked up a gorgeous Autograph blush, that had beautiful floral design similar to the Clinique Cheek Pop blushes so I popped into the beauty section of M&S at Meadowhall. Unfortunately, no pretty blushes in site but there was a gorgeous contour kit that appears very similar to that of Charlotte Tilbury but at a smidgen of the price!

Autograph Contour Kit

The kit consists of a matte brown bronzer and a shimmery peach champagne highlighter. The bronzer is slightly warm toned but there is no orange or muddy shades, I'd be honestly willing to use this shade in my eyebrows! Aesthetically, it looks very similar to the Sleek Contour Kit, however the bronzer shade is more suited to my skin from M&S' offering.

Autograph Contour Kit

The pigmentation isn't too intense but I think that it is better with bronzers, especially those designed for contour to stop the brown stripes forming under people's cheekbones! However the highlight... the pigmentation is amazing! I love the glow this gives to my skin, in the pan it looks quite peachy however on the skin it is more a champagne but it has such a gorgeous sheen that changes from pink to champagne to peach in the light. I think in any kind of light, whether it be fluorescent, natural or incandescent, the light should pick up the multi-tonal shimmer. Note shimmer, not glitter, I didn't have any glitter issues with it.

Autograph Contour Kit Swatches

The powders are soft and slightly creamy, not talc-like or powdery which is nice for an affordable brand. The packaging states that this palette is in the shade Medium Brown but I think that is because everything at M&S tends to have a colour on and I searched through everyone to see if there was a different shade but there isn't so I think it is just describing the bronzer! I still find contouring a bit of a skill I need to acquire, so for beginners there is a really helpful guide included inside the kit, it was really hard to photograph but I think I've got the gist of it!

Autograph Contour Kit Guide

I've gone online to give the link (the page is here) but it appears to be no longer available online, boo :( but I saw it in my local M&S only 2 weeks ago so it might be worth looking in store! It cost me £12.50 which is why it is such a steal! Have you got any beauty products from the Autograph line?

Mini Haul | TXMaxx Haul

TXMaxx is the place of beauty and fashion lovers dreams. I mainly prefer the beauty section, as I'm a strange one when it comes to clothes, I like them easy to find and in my own style which isn't always the easiest thing to do in TXMaxx.

TXMaxx Haul

The beauty section ranges from a couple of stands to about 5 aisles in TXMaxx, the best one's I have found for beauty would be Milton Keynes and Cambridge Beehive. I love finding bargains in there, makeup is harder to come by now and I find most items have been used so I leave them behind :( Recently I went to Peterborough and picked some brilliant bargain skincare from well known and loved brands!

Good things Blemish Control Mask Good things Mattifying moisturiser Balance Active Skincare Brightening Face Wash

I have featured both Balance Active Formula and Good Things here on Angel Flicks before and I love them for budget yet brilliant skincare. In late May, I was kindly sent (full review linked) the Balance Active Skin Brightening Cream Wash to review and I fell in love, it's a creamy citrus scented wash with the active ingredients of Vitamin C and Illumiscin. I've almost run out so I switched to a different cleanser but now I'm so happy to be able to use it again! RRP is £6.99 and I managed to pick it up for £2.99!

Good Things Blemish Control Gel Mask was a very much indeed purchase, I have been such a stressy bunny these last few weeks with a lot of things behind the blog happening, so I have lots of stress and McDonald's spots popped up! I've used it a couple of times and it really does help, if you aren't a fan of a mask that mostly soaks into the skin and smells witch hazel and mint like, it might not be for you, but it does an amazing job! RRP £4.99 and I purchased for £3.99, not a huge saving but better than nothing!

Good Things Miracle Mattifier is the best base for a no makeup day face, I can be fully hydrated but not look dewy or shiny when my natural oils peak through, it smells of blackcurrant. If you have tried the 5 minute facial, it kind of reminds me of that in scent but more of a whiff than identical! RRP £7.99 and TXMaxx had it for £4.99, bargain!

All combined I saved £8, meaning pizza and a chocolate bar for tea ;) but no, it's always good to save on a budget! Have you found any bargains recently in TXMaxx?

Book Review | The School for Good and Evil Trilogy by Soman Chainani

I'm a sucker for books made for the teen years, something about getting about from sex, graphic violence, drugs or ridiculous plot lines is soothing. When I had the opportunity to review The School of Good and Evil Trilogy I jumped at the chance. It's set in the land before fairytales, ready to make the princess' and the evil witches.

The School for Good and Evil Trilogy

One of the brilliant aspects of this book is for the children who don't want to let go of fairy stories but don't want to be seen as uncool or dorky for liking fairytales (wait a few more years and loving Disney is cool again :') ) The descriptive language in these books even got me as an adult so into the book that it was almost a film to me; for a child's mind with so much imagination and hope in the world, who even knows how in depth and amazed they will be.

The School for good and evil

A slight synopsis of the trilogy would be there are 2 girls, Sophie and Agatha who end up being taken by the head master to go to School for Good and to the School for Evil. Boys, fairytale plot lines, friendships; everything a teenage story should entail! There are many twists and tales within these stories and I daren't ruin it for you as readers but it even starts from a few chapters in to the first book.

The School For Good and Evil A World Without Princes

As my title and the photos suggest, The School for Good and Evil is currently a trilogy containing the following 3 titles (I've linked all of them to purchase!): The School for Good and Evil, The School for Good and Evil: A World Without Princes and The School for Good and Evil: The Last Ever After. A really good aspect of these books is you see the characters grow, I feel like I've developed a bond with Sophie and I could describe her to anyone who asks me like she was my best friend.

The School for Good and Evil The Last Ever After

I think these books are the perfect back to school books, I know when I was in secondary school we had a reading lesson each week and I'd love them! They'd look so cool to get out, does that make me seem strange?! They took me a little while to read but not too long, I guess for a child aged between 11-16 it would take a few months maybe but they aren't heavy going or too light, just right! The illustrations are amazing, I did not feel embarrassed to take book 2 out on the bus the other day!

The last in the triology is out now and there is an amazing trailer on YouTube here, to promote Chainani's brilliant work! I love the scripting for the new book, it's so fairytale, yet happily never after at the same time!

"Can Agatha and Sophie find the perfect ending to their story in this epic conclusion to this bestselling series.Once best friends, Agatha and Sophie were pulled apart like strangers, each in the arms of a boy, Good with Good, Evil with Evil… is their friendship lost forever after…But as they settle into their new lives, their story begs to be re-written, and this time, theirs isn’t the only one. With the girls apart, Evil has taken over and the villains of the past have come back to change their tales and turn the world of Good and Evil upside down. With Evers being murdered and Nevers reigning supreme, the girls need to restore the balance, find the end to their story, and—hopefully—become friends again."

Let me know if you read any of The School for Good and Evil books or if they interest you in the comments! Toodle pip till next time! xxx

Favourites | Summer Favourites

Summer Favourites

Don't worry my favourites post isn't as long as my empties posts, part 1 and part 2 in case you missed them! Summer this year was a time for me to experiment with my makeup, I didn't do as much experimenting as I liked but I found out a few new ways and I guess skills as I had the time to put on my makeup rather than having 15 minutes to do it or I'd be late for college/work/ work experience!

Etos Anti dullness primer Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Kit Eyeko Skinny Liner

The most consistently used item this summer would have to be the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette near enough everyday I wore makeup this bad boy would come out to play! I'm still getting used to the crazy shimmer/ pigmentation of the highlight shades in this palette (fan brush job!) but as you might be able to see in the photo, the middle contour shades - a cool toned brown - has been extremely loved this month! I've got pretty neutral skin undertones but I find to contour with this shade then bronze up with the first shade gives amazing contour I didn't know I was capable of!

MAC Prep+Prime Fix+ ETOS Brightening Primer

It hasn't been incredibly warm this summer but I have had a lot of humidity, meaning my makeup just slides off my face. I've been very lucky to come across fixing sprays this summer, I wish I had them last summer when I was roasting away in 30+ degrees in Noord-Holland!! MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ has been a constant in setting my cream base (foundation, concealer, eye primer and any cream products) and then again to set my full face of makeup. Plus it is super refreshing! ETOS are a drugstore brand from the Netherlands, it may be in other European countries however, and I was very pleased to pick up a couple of their primers in my last visit in May. The anti-dullness primer gives me a good smooth base to apply my makeup and helps to revive my dull sallow skin! For €6 (or maybe less!) it was a complete bargain!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Eyeko Skinny Liner

I have mentioned my love for this eyeliner before in my April Favourites but it is amazing! The Eyeko Skinny Liner is a felt tip pen liner and has such a "skinny" nib that you can get the finest of lines and wings. I've found storing it laying down horizontally rather than trying to stand it on its cap works the best for prolonging the use! It is quick, easier and my go to liner if I don't have time for mistakes! A new foundation for summer (bought in this Tesco makeup haul!) and fell quickly in love, can you believe that this is the shade 100 Ivory and I need fake tan for it to be the right shade... Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hour Nude Foundation gives a gorgeous finish on the skin, dewy yet not shiny, I still set with a powder but it covers my imperfections without the need for the concealer about 70% of the time!

Empties | Summer Empties Part 2

If you haven't caught Summer Empties Part 1, feel free to pop over and give that a read but here is the promised part 2. I'm so glad I kept all my empties as it makes me feel so much better about using up my hoard of beauty products!

Summer Empties Part 2

Whilst redecorating my room, I found an insane quantity of bath and shower gels, however that didn't stop me using one of my new scents that I purchased from the Imperial Leather Sweets Collection. I adore the scent of this fruit salad gel (available here) and I will have to definitely have to purchase more; Jeff actually picked this bottle as my next to use when I completed my The Little Bubble Co. Strawberry Sundae Bath and Shower Gel, I have an ongoing love with these shower gels from very early on in the time of Angel Flicks, find more here. I love both of this and I will happily repurchase as soon as I've got rid of this constantly mentioned enormous stash! It's actually nearer to Christmas now, too early to bring out the Christmas bubble baths? I've used the Avon Mr Frosty Spiced Apple Bubble Bath throughout the year as a destressing detox. I find a strong scent so much better to calm me, I find sweet bubble baths actually get me more wound up and anxious about what I'm stressing about. I love Avon's Christmas specials and I'm particularly excited about this year's upcoming release.

Imperial Leather Fruit Salad Avon Mr frosty Christmas Bubble bath Spiced Apple The Little Bubble Co Strawberry sundae

A really boring product I finished was the Sure Invisible Clear Aqua deodorant, however it is boring, it is a bit good deodorant and got me through those sweltering 30+ degree heat that England hit in early July. It doesn't seem to create the awful dust cloud like I'm finding Vaseline deodorants do at the moment :( Please beauty gurus do not kill me for the sin of keeping products for far too long, The Body Shop Body Butter Duo in Vanilla. Unfortunately The Body Shop don't make this product anymore but I don't find it that amazing compared to their standard body butters, although the scent is amazing! I posted a full review on the Waitrose Pure Eye Makeup Remover and it was really good for it's bargain of a price, I'd really recommend if you are near a Waitrose at any point!

Sure Invisible Body Butter Duo Pure Eye Makeup Remover

I finally for the first time in a while, it turns out since May,  I finished up 2 mascaras! I'm not sure if they finished or the remained dried up but these have been strong competitors in my mascara draw. I'm not so sure on the wand for the Maybelline Mega Plush mascara, it was a bit too bendy as it got older. Maybelline struck drugstore gold with the Rocket Volume Mascara though - it's amazing. I could live with this mascara alone as it provides separated, black, lengthened lashes! AMAZING!

Empties | Summer Empties Part 1

Are you sitting comfortable with food and drink supplies? This post is a long one!! As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I had a huge clear out and tidy up in the end of July with my room being completely redecorated and reorganised so I found lots of half used up products. I know you are only meant to leave products open for a certain amount of time, but all these products were still okay to use!

Summer Empties Part 1

Toothpaste as per usual was the Pearl Drops Party Sparkle and Macleans whitening toothpaste, the trick with buying these toothpastes which can be more expensive is using budget drugstores; Savers, Poundstretcher and Poundland is the only place that I will buy toothpaste unless the supermarket has an amazing offer but I've never seen Pearl Drops anywhere for a pound except Poundland! Batiste is another bargain finders dream, never buy it full price, always stock up on sale! I was so annoyed the other week when I picked up 4 bottles for £8 in Boots when in Superdrug it would have been about £6 instead, tough times for a bargain hunter failure. I managed to get through 2 cans in the past couple of months but I mainly believe that to Jeff sharing the second one! I'm also training my hair to go a minimum of 3 days without washing and it's going so well!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Pearl Drops Party Sparkle Macleans Whitening

I finally completed a shampoo and conditioner that I bought at the same time (in December 2013)... I know I'm a hoarder but these scents bought back so many memories of meeting Jeff for the first time. I loved this shampoo and conditioner to begin with. It washed my newly dyed hair for the first time I'd ever dyed my hair amazingly well and my hair was super long and had just had it's first hair cut away from the all one length cut I was used to haha! However I fell out of the love with the OGX Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Shampoo, it seemed to leave a film on my hair which needed a good deep cleanse to remove! The OGX Cherry Blossom Conditioner however still felt lovely and soft on my hair and I'd happily repurchase that again, however the shampoo on my natural, slightly oiler roots will have to be a no this time. Nourish Me Truly from V05 is a great conditioner if you have dry or damaged hair and it is so affordable, I always see it on offer or in bargain shops; once I destash and shop my stash bare, I will repurchase.

OGX Cherry Blossom Ginseng Shampoo Nourish Me Truly VO5

I also finished a deep conditioner , Illuminate My Colour Ultimate Blends, this month but I soon stopped using it as a deep conditioner as it did nothing. I found it didn't illuminate my colour, didn't condition my hair, a bit of let down from Garnier :( however it did make a great conditioner to use as a shaving cream! I love the cranberry smell but I really wouldn't recommend this product for your hair!

Ultimate Blends Colour Illuminate Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Rose and Lavendar

I also finished another bottle of the holy grail of all cleansers, Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I've mentioned about a thousand times just how much I love this cleanser and it's including in my Everyday Evening Skincare Routine. I find it is always better to pick up the limited edition scents (this one is Rose & Lavendar) as it just makes the product more wonderful!

Well that's all for part 1! Part 2 of my Summer Empties will be up soon! Toodle pip till next time! xxx
