Review | Essence To Die For Quattro Eyeshadow*

I have finally found the perfect on the go eyeshadow quad and it's from the drugstore! Technically not in the UK but in The Netherlands and many other European countries Essence is in every drugstore standing proud. If you haven't heard of Essence (I have plenty of posts here) they are a European drugstore affordable brand that is available to buy in Wilkos in the UK.

Essence To Die For Quattro Eyeshadow

I was originally sent this palette as part of a campaign of a full face of makeup for £10 or less, however now I love love love the copper and brown shades. There are 4 shades in the Quattro palettes as the name suggested, they are all designed to give you a look in a palette without the need for other shades.

The brown and copper shades in To Die For, make it perfect for everyday but at the same time you can up the amp and make it darker and smokier for the evening. There are 2 matte shades and 2 shimmer, just look at the iridescence in the copper shade, gorgeous! There is also a matte highlight shade, which if you read Angel Flicks for a while, is all I use on my brow bone!

The lasting time on the shades is pretty good. When my brother graduated in July it was a sunny day and I was outside for the majority of the day and the shadow only started to disappear when I fell asleep in the car about 5 o'clock - considering I left the Holiday Inn at 8:15am that's pretty good going for such an affordable quad!

Essence To Die For Quattro Eyeshadow

To Die For Quattro is available in Wilkos for £3. Unbelievable right? This quad will always be a firm favourite with me!!

Nails | Favourite Summer Shades

I haven't written a post about nail polishes in ages, purely because when I'm at college I can't where vanish and since I've been off I've gels on for about 6 weeks. I'm giving my nails a break from gels at the moment and I've loved being able to change up my nail polish every few days! I'd thought I'd share the shades I've been loving at the moment!

Favourite Summer Shades

Please do let me know if you like the opening images with the pink overlays, it's a new idea I'm trialling at the moment! Anyway back to nails, I can't say I'm a massive fan of the traditional summer nail colours of bright pinks, yellows and greens (think Ibiza style) but I've just started to pan out towards more of a lighter softer shades like Nails Inc Fizz (similar here) that was a free gift with Marie Claire magazine. My mum actually picked the shade out when I asked to get the magazine, and I love it! It's a gorgeous ballet like pink!

Nails Inc Fizz Models Own Cornflower Blue Nails Inc Bond Street Essie Penny Talk

Keeping with the softer tones, Model's Own Cornflower Gleam is a lovely pastel yet strong blue that is gorgeous in the sun. As it's a Hypergel shade, it's super glossy and shiny, I love it. Penny Talk from Essie is a polish that is my go to in a hurry shade. It dries super fast for no reason in particular but I find it more with metallic shades and is amazing colour for a set of lovely rose gold nails!

Now to the couple of darker colours. Clockwork Orange is a warm, slightly burnt orange shade that looks amazing in Summer and the transition to Autumn Winter. I find Leighton Denny polishes slightly more money when buying from QVC new but worth it for the ease of application and the durability of the polishes! The metallic range I have last over a week without chips! Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish in Old Bond Street is a pure royal purple with the shiny gel finish. I can't honestly say they look like gel nails although the plumping effect does help to smooth things over with application, they just take forever to dry!

Mini Haul | Boots Haul

I picked a fair few items while I was on holiday, how can resist shopping on holiday? This haul is about a month late but I've grown to love the products so I wanted to share my mini shopping experience!

Boots I find so expensive when I go in, I guess I'm drawn towards the high end products and miss out on the bargain brands you find in Superdrug (MUA, Makeup Rev and so on..) I have to make sure I limit myself or I may have a bit of an 'ouch' moment on my bank statement.

Revlon Colorstay Natural Collection Powder Mini Boots Haul

I told you it was a mini haul! Before my brother's graduation, I knew I needed to get a full coverage, long lasting foundation. My current foundations are good but after finding out the ceremony was 90% in Latin and that I'd be outside for a luncheon afterwards for a good 3 hours - I'd be touching my face a lot. Revlon calls out to me as full coverage, and this is my first experience of a pour rather than a pump lid, and I'm doing okay with it! I'm not wasting anything as it comes out very slowly!! I picked up Revlon Colorstay Foundation (the one for dry/normal skin) in the shade 150 Buff and it matches my natural skin tone perfectly! It's quite thick so I apply with a buffing brush as I find using a beauty sponge absorbs too much of the product and doesn't spread it so well.

If you follow me on Twitter (self promote here!) , you would know while I was away I broke both powder compacts I took with me (1 in my makeup bag and 1 in my car). Sad moments :( so I needed a powder I could get quick! When I went to Sheffield, I managed to get use the left over dust from my compact (the rest was on the floor of the decking), Boots needed to save me as Superdrug didn't have my shade is anything!

Revlon Colorstay 150 Buff Foundation Natural Collection Powder Swatches

Natural Collection is a brand I relate to from my secondary school years, my best friend always used the cool toned version of this powder (I picked up warm, which isn't as dark as the Boots website shows), a gloss in a caramel shade I think it was called toffee or something!, and their pencil eyeliner! I keep seeing it as the unloved makeup section in Boots but I love this powder and I think if my budget expands (any hauls you see now should have been written a while ago aha!) I'll be popping in for more!

Have you picked up anything in Boots recently? Don't forget to enter my giveaway with Maple Holistics!

Review | Australian Bodycare Blemish Stick with Tea Tree Oil*

Going on holiday and a pesky pimple appears? Taking your makeup off at night and see a spot on it's way through? We all have our pain in the backside breakouts and in Summer when you want light coverage to help reduce the chances of breakouts, they appear, in all their might.

Australian Bodycare, a brand known for their tea tree and natural products, have a blemish stick designed in mind for breakout healing and redness reducing on the go! I was kindly sent the Australian Bodycare Blemish Stick* to review and I've given it a good go after the last couple of weeks.

Australian Bodycare Blemish Stick with Tea Tree Oil

First thing I liked about the blemish stick is that it is a roller ball. Now I know what some of you might be thinking, putting something directly on a spot is a beauty sin... not always! Tea Tree Oil is a natural antiseptic therefore it will clean itself from the bacteria that it gets on it. I like the roller ball design because I feel it gives you more opportunity with the product, squeezy tubes are wasteful and drippers make a huge mess!

Australian Bodycare Blemish Stick with Tea Tree Oil

Secondly, is that it works! I had a sore under the skin spot I noticed one afternoon and these spots with me with erupt an ugly head and leave a mark for days and days however I grabbed the stick, covered up and got on with the day. I used it again in the evening and following morning before my serum (p.s. check out my morning and evening skincare routines!) and it was on it's way down! No ugly head and the redness was reduced so much so that I didn't even need a thick concealer!

Buy it on KLM Beauty for £5.99. Have you tried any Australian Bodycare Products?

Review | Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette*

So I'm currently writing this looking out of my bedroom window looking at the field behind me being harvested, which makes a change from staring at the brick wall I have done for the last 2 years. My whole room since last Sunday has under gone a massive makeover and tidy up with new carpets, moved furniture, new walls and a lot of tat has made it's way to the bin and the charity shop!

I will being doing a room accents post soon once I've finished tidying, buying new furniture and hanging up pictures but let me know if anything particularly interests you!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette

Makeup Revolution kindly sent me their brand new contour kit a couple of weeks ago and it has become a staple in my makeup routine, it is amazing! I have always lusted after the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit but the amount of money (£39) is a lot when you're unsure if you can use all the colours when you haven't got fake tan on! (Fake tan for newbies post coming soon too!)

The Ultra Contour Palette* contains 3 matte contour shades, a matte highlight, a 'banana' powder, 2 shimmer highlights and a shimmer bronzer, for 6 shades at a minimal price of £8 it is an absolute bargain! Firstly the highlight shades, highlighting for me means using the same highlight powder for months on end, trying to remember to set my under eyes with the banana shade is a problem but I'm doing my best and it does help! It works on my super pale NC15/C1 skin so hopefully it will work for all my other pale girls out there too!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Highlight Swatches

The pale pink highlight shade (the first highlight shade) is good for a moderate dust on the areas you wish to highlight and works as a setting powder too as there isn't any shimmer so it won't make you a disco ball. If you love a strong highlight then the last highlight shade is perfect for you as it gives an amazing amount of glitter but be vary of the disco ball effect!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette Bronzer Swatches

Onto the bronzer shades, that make this contour kit complete, there are two warm toned orangey contour shades and one cool shade. I love the cool tone shade for my pale skin, it makes my cheekbones so contoured and I feel I can actually say I've contoured and not bronzed! Be sparing with these shades, Makeup Rev have hit it well with the pigmentation again! I've self tanned with the St Moriz Medium Tan at the moment and the first shade gives me a gorgeous long lasting contour that looked amazing this morning! The cool tone I used before I tanned up and it was amazing on pale skin, absolutely amazing!!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette

Overall I love this palette and I can't wait to share my MOTD that I created using this palette and really suggest you should pop over to the Makeup Revolution site to have a look at what other bargains you could get your hands on!
