Mini Haul | DressLink*

You may remember seeing a DressLink Wishlist I published a little while back, well I was a lucky girl that DressLink offered to send me a few bits to try and review :)

Korea Women Casual Hoodie Sweatshirt DressLink Coco Chanel Hoodie Sweatshirt

The main love of my order was the Korea Women Casual Hoodie Sweatshirt* which has such a cool fashionista design. I wore this quite a bit while I was on holiday in The Netherlands for my birthday and I have only noticed that one of the tassels has started to come away and fray a bit at the ends, nothing a bit of wax or clear nail polish wouldn't fix! It's only happened because the tassels aren't sealed but I could always stitch them up to seal! The hoody though is perfect, sleeves could be a bit longer but they are an Asian company and I'm a lot bigger than all of the Asian people I've met especially my mum's cousins wife (family photos are funny!) but the lining is so fluffy yet it keeps you warm yet on the warmer days I didn't boil so that good!

Womens Fashion Cut Out Lace Playsuit Jumpsuit DressLink

This item I'm not sure yet but I'm trying to get there with it! Womens Fashion Cut Out Lace Playsuit Jumpsuit* looks gorgeous on the website, and I was really excited to try it as you read in the wishlist, I love Shanxo and in her summer videos or snapchats she looks amazing in all different playsuits and dresses with a lot of white! The top half of the playsuit fits really nice, and you can wear a normal bra underneath with no issues, however trying to find a pair of knickers underneath without seeing through is a problem. I'm thinking of lining it with an slick slip that I saved as it was new when we were clearing my Granny's house; just gotta make time for it! It also needs steaming as due to the material I daren't iron so sorry for the creases!

The final little piece of my order was this Sweet Hollow Out Rose Flower Headband* that is super cute and summery! I like to wear it when my hair is up in a bun and it stops my fringe flopping down! Just a little added accessory for a rainy day!

New In Town | Imperial Leather Classic Sweets Flavour Shower Creams

Back to good old Tesco again and oh wow! I've found an amazing product in the tolietries aisle! Imperial Leather have always been known to me as the soap with a sticker on, most pointless idea ever as it comes off but hey ho, I know the brand! I was just browsing trying to kill time on Monday as it threw it down outside and I'd picked up all my shopping, does anyone else do that? I came across shower gels on offer to 79p and then I checked the scents and I was over the moon!

Imperial Leather have recently 4 new scents that are the same scents as sweets, or classic flavours as some of the bottles say. There is Uplifting Sherbet Lemon, Mouthwatering Fruit Salad, Comforting Marshmallow and Stimulating Spearmint. I picked up the first 3 as I'm never sure on minty shower gels, I don't like them so much!

Imperial Leather Classic Sweets Flavour Shower Creams

The scents are really true to how you would imagine them and don't have a particularly chemically scented smell. I would like to think that the shower creams would be good for most skin types as it is a cream so it won't be drying and Imperial Leather has never reacted with my slightly sensitive skin, particularly my legs.

Currently on offer online at Tesco online for 2 for £2 (bargain!) but there may still be the 79p per bottle offer in stores! Will you be picking any up?

Review | ThumbsUp Nail Wraps*

Nail wraps are one of the things I remember my mum buying from Avon for me before we went on holiday when I was in secondary school as a treat, the idea of polish that doesn't have a drying time is brilliant. ThumbsUp Nail Wraps have recently launched a new collection for Summer 2015 and there are some pretty amazing designs.

ThumbsUp Nail Wraps Summer 2015

I received 2 of the 9 new releases to have a play with and I find them really lovely! The patterns are perfect for this year's festivals as the thing with nail wraps is they are a lot harder to chip or knick than standard polish. You also get amazing nail art without the hassle!

ThumbsUp Nail Wraps Summer 2015 Neon

Nail wraps are a convenient way of getting great nails and can be applied anywhere without worrying of spilling polish or it smelling on public transport - I always feel guilty when I paint my nails on the train! The application of ThumbsUp Nail Wraps is simple, the instructions are really clear and takes about 40 seconds, so much fast to have instantly done nails!

ThumbsUp Nail Wraps Summer 2015 Venom

The 2 designs I received to review where 'Neon'* and the 'Venom'* designs and I think I prefer the Neon design as it is more me but I think for the amazing effect it gives Venom is so high fashion!

Have you tried any of the ThumbsUp Nail Wraps or any other nail wraps, thoughts?

Haul | Essence Summer Haul

When Jeff flew over a couple of weeks ago, we popped into The Mall Luton to have a quick look around and give me a break from driving. Wilko was a place I definitely wanted to look around and I'm so glad I did as I managed to pick up loads of things for the new addition to the family, Knuffel the rabbit (post coming soon!).

As the makeup aisle tends to be really near the entrance, I was excited to pick up a few bits I'd been craving for a while now. I love all the Essence makeup I have already and was determined to pick up another few shades of products I knew I loved and cherished.

Essence Blush Up! Pinky Flow XXXL Longlasting Matt Effect Lipgloss Soft Nude XXXL Longlasting Nude Lipgloss Soft Almond Stay All Day Concealer 10 Natural Beige

Essence Blush Up! in Heatwave is a dupe for a MAC LE Blush Ripe Peach and I was willing to try another shade of Blush Up! after loving the quality of Heatwave. Pinky Flow (not so sure on the name!) is a brilliant drugstore dupe of Benefit Dandelion, a blush I've loved and mentioned in my May Favourites, when you use the lighter side but then swirling all the colours together give a gorgeous slightly warmer pink. I think it's amazing how much product (8g) you get for a mere £3.50 compared to £25 at MAC (fourth swatch).

I kindly recieved a XXXL Longlasting Matt Lipgloss in Silky Red from Essence to try out and I love it so much that I had to go find another shade. The Matt Effect lipglosses are amazing from Essence, they smell so sweet, last super long and really easy to apply. I picked up the shade 06 Soft Nude (top swatch) and it is a warm toned browny nude with a pink undertone, think Velvet Teddy but the tiniest bit pinker!

Essence Blush Up! Pinky Flow XXXL Longlasting Matt Effect Lipgloss Soft Nude XXXL Longlasting Nude Lipgloss Soft Almond Stay All Day Concealer 10 Natural Beige Swatch

Loving a nude lip at the moment, purely because it's quick and easy and goes with almost every look, I picked up a standard XXXL Nude lipgloss in the shade 06 soft almond (second swatch) and it gives a glossy sheen over nude lips or a subtle tint on it's own.

Lastly, I needed a new concealer, I'm scraping the tube of my Rimmel Wake Me Up and I thought I'd give this one a go! Stay All Day Concealer 16 hour wear gives nice coverage, nothing too heavy, quite a similar formula to the Wake Me Up actually and I can use it under my eyes and on blemishes without highlighting, even if it does include light reflecting pigments! I picked up the shade 10 Natural Beige (third swatch).

Birthday Haul | Nars, Nars and more Nars

My birthday was last month and I was a very lucky girl and Jeff treated me to so much Nars that I honestly didn't have a clue about! I wrote about my lovely day here but here is the promised birthday whole, almost a whole month after my birthday!

NARS Makeup

Firstly, I received the NARSissist Smokey Eye Compact that contains the 3 shadows in Madrague 1, Bali and Mekong; wide contour eye brush travel size #43 and Via Veneto Larger than Life Eyeliner Mini. I travel so much at the moment with Jeff still over in The Netherlands (boo :( ), my brother being in Oxford and I flick between work, college and home on a scale I sometimes don't even remember till I look on the miles on my dashboard! Travel sizes are a life saving for makeup bags. Taking enough makeup in your handbag to do whatever you fancy can be tricky and I find the shades gorgeous! Whenever I next go on a date (probably a million years time) I'll definitely do a full look with this palette rather than blending it in with other lighter shades to make a daytime look.

NARSissist Smokey Eye Compact

My swatches didn't come out so well of the highlight shade, mainly because I'm super pale and it works amazingly well as a brow bone highlight, angels who have been reading for a while will know that I love them matte flesh whitey creams for brow bone highlights!

NARSissist Smokey Eye Compact Swatches

I then started to open the smaller parcels and was a happy girl to see a bit of limited edition packaging. I have a thing about LE's, cosmetics companies seem to make their products differently for LE shades or packaging compared to their standard lines. The Laced with Edge Collection was released for Christmas 2014 and I'm really glad they are still stocking some of the pieces online. Jeff picked out the shade Deadly Catch from the Hardwided Collection lipsticks, a deep red but still with blue toned reds that gives "a futuristic sheen". I have to say it is amazing on the lips and the swatch really shows how perfect it is!

NARS Hardwided Lipstick Deadly Catch NARS Pure Matte Lipstick Amsterdam

He also picked me up another red lipstick however this one is from the standard line and is the Pure Matte Lipstick in Amsterdam. He couldn't resist it, Amsterdam is one of our cities, our place to escape to, and of course the capital of The Netherlands, his home country. It is a brick brown-toned red that really does last all day and it looks so professional looking, it's perfect for work - and play ;) !

NARS Hardwided Lipstick Deadly Catch NARS Pure Matte Lipstick Amsterdam Swatches

The last two bits I got were part of the deal for Mother's Day that NARS had running at the time of ordering (The Netherlands share the same date as America) and they are super cute minis. I got another Via Veneto Larger than Life Eyeliner mini and an Orgasm lipgloss mini. The shade is so lovely and the pigmentation is really strong for a lipgloss and I'd love to be get something else in that shade, particularly the cult blusher!

NARS Via Veneto Larger Than Life Eyeliner NARS Orgasm LipGloss

I really love all the bits I got, thank you Jeff! Have you got anything recently from NARS? What are your thoughts? Toodle pip till next time! xxx

Mini Haul | Tesco Makeup Haul

Now I'm at college and I have my own car, my mum regularly sends me on Tesco shops on my way home on a Monday afternoon when I drive past. It's a killer for me, I see all the good food and fall for all the offers and of course the new beauty section in my local Tesco looks so pretty it is hard to resist!

A couple of weeks ago I was only sent in to get about 3 things, but I was still drawn away by the makeup area and in need of a new foundation that was a bit darker yet not as dark as some I own, off swatching I went!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Nude Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Crayon

After spending forever trying to pick a new foundation, I decided I would choose Rimmel as I didn't want to break the bank and I know their foundation are better good for a drugstore price! I can never remember which one of the two Lasting Finish 25 hour foundations are meant to be better than the other but I went with the Nude one as I wanted to give it a go and it matched better. The crazy thing at the moment is that even if the foundation is from the same brand and the same shade, it swatches so differently with different undertones or even completely different amount of pigmentation!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 hour Nude Foundation 100 Ivory

I picked up the shade 100 Ivory and it matches pretty well to my slightly cool toned yet mainly neutral skin tone. In these months I try to pick slightly yellower foundations as I seem to go that colour instead of brown! From the last couple of weeks trying it out, I'm really liking it and I'm glad of my choice!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 hour Nude Foundation 100 Ivory Swatch Barry M Lip Crayon In The Frow Me Up Matte Me Up Swatch

I also had to stop by Barry M to look at the new Summer releases although I wish the swatch on my hand was as good as the lip! I picked up the shade In the Frow, number 1 in the range, and it swatches amazingly but then on my lips it doesn't seem so intense; I'm going to keep trying through as I'm in love with the colour it swatches!

Review | MAC Mineralize Lipstick Bold Spring

For my birthday my brother bought me a bottle of MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ and in the same order my mum bought the Mineralize Lipstick in Bold Spring. Unfortunately in the post, the Fix+ cap came away and leaked, fortunately mum's lipstick was okay but MAC kindly resent the entire order just in case. This meant that I was lucky enough to get the lipstick too!

I've never had anything from the Mineralize range till now, but MAC say "our unique 77 mineral complex infuses a range of luxurious formulas with extraordinary benefits". I've been super tempted to buy the Mineralize Moisture Foundation as I suffer with dry skin so it should stop any flaky patches of foundation.

MAC Mineralize Lipstick Bold Spring

Bold Spring is a gorgeous cool toned pink with a purple sheen, it is gorgeous for a bright yet conservative lip. It is super moisturising and has a crème sheen like finish, MAC describes it as a medium sheen finish, which I guess is the same as crème sheen!

The packaging is slightly different compared to the usual MAC lipstick black bullet but I'm glad it is as it is also a lot more expensive. A standard MAC lipstick is £15.50, Mineralize lipsticks are £20. It is such a dramatic jump but I'm glad it seems worth the difference for the quality; although a lot of MAC standard lipsticks last well anyway and I only find matte and retro matte drying.

I love pairing this lipstick with golden eyes for a super summery girly look or with a neutral brown toned eye for a more reserved style but with a hint of something special. Available from the MAC website for £20.

What do you think? Do you have any products from the Mineralize range?

Review | Balance Active Formula Skin Brightening Cream Wash*

Mary-Ann changed her skincare, dun dun durr! It shocked my mum too! I always always used Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish but when I kindly received Balance Active Formula's Skin Brightening Cream Wash* to review. The summer before last I had listened to advise about changing up my skincare between seasons and I'm happy to say I did the same this year. Last time I swapped Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish for the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Oil Free range to ensure that my oiliness that I get in the summer (TMI but I get rather sweaty in the Summer) and I was excited to see a cleanser that was a bit less thick and was also brightening - I've learnt that brightening products work well on my skin as it can be yellowy at times and rather dull from my health issues.

Balance Active Formula are a brand I had never heard of before until they followed me on Instagram (you can follow me here ;) ) and I was really intrigued. They only use clincially proven ingredients, so you can see a difference in your skin rather than paying a high price for a product that will do the same thing as a Poundland cleanser that went out of date about 6 years ago! Instead of paying out for costly advertising and fancy packaging, Balance Active Formula keep it simple and affordable so the prices aren't sky high - I have to say I quite like the packaging personally!

Balance Active Formula Skin Brightening Cream Wash

The cleanser contains Illumsicin which is a mixture of Vitamin C, argan oil and salicylic acid designed to help brighten and illuminate the skin! The salicylic acid helps to clear the pores which I find really amazing, you might find within the first week of using you break out but this is similar to the Clarisonic and alike, bringing out the dirt first!

The scent is citrus with a twist! I can't quite put my finger on it but it's really refreshing first thing in the morning! I trialled this product for almost 4 weeks and there is still some face wash left! I'd really recommend for all skin type except sensitive due to the acid! Available on the Balance Active Formula's official seller (Viaderm Limited) on Amazon for £3.99. For a full list of retailers here!

Favourites | May

I've discovered a few holy grail products this month, the same foundations all the time, mascara go to's, I've managed to get my routine cut down now to about 25 minutes from skincare through to setting spray - rather pleased with myself!

My foundations that I've used this month have been a mixture of L'Oreal True Match in C1 and Rimmel Match Perfection in 100 Ivory. I absolutely love the finish this gives when I mix it with my Primark beauty blender dupe, such good coverage for drugstore foundations! Next time I have a bit more money I think I'll invest in the next shade darker, possibly a neutral shade, but that'll be for swatching!

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 L'Oreal True Match Rimmel Match Perfection Kate Moss Lipstick 20

Eyeshadows for the spring summer transition has to be Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1* palette, using a mix of Drama as a transition shade, Getter as a lid colour and then Luna has highlight! I reviewed it in full here and my 90's inspired MOTD post also used the palette! My Rimmel London Lasting Kate Lipstick in 19 has been my go to for a creamy pinky nude lipstick. It is so easy to apply and doesn't dry out the lips!

My skincare has just started to change around as I find I needed a lighter day moisturiser so I've been really liking the gel consistency of the Simple Light Moisturiser and it's a lovely base for my foundation too! Moving on from base to setting my foundation, ELF High Definition Powder has been my go to every morning, I love how it is a loose translucent powder that doesn't change the colour of my foundation or look cakey! It's such a shame you can't get ELF very easily in the UK anymore!

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot ELF High Definition Powder

And finally, my Cheeky Sweet Spot from Benefit has been a good contender for the most used palette this month! I've loved used Hoola to contour, Sugarbomb to highlight and finishing off with a little bit of Dandelion for blush! I'm trying to find dupes of these as I'm so scared they'll run out!

Haul | Spring Superdrug Haul

Spring Superdrug Haul

I was a little bit naughty in Superdrug when the 3 for 2 was on a fair few weeks ago and treated myself to these few bits! You might be wondering why there are 5 items not 6 but I bought a lipstick for my mum to makeup the 6th item! These are all products I've wanted for a while now so I thought I should take advantage of the offer and have a little Spring Superdrug Haul!

Miss Sporty Matte BB Cream Makeup Revolution Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray

Firstly I wanted to pick up another Miss Sporty BB Cream, I bought the original at the end of last summer when I wanted a lighter base for when I was only going to work in the kitchen or on small errand days, don't get me wrong I love the original but I'm also loving matte skin so I tried a different one! So far so good with this, doesn't break me out or emphasise dry patches and gives me a good yet light coverage!

My first ever setting spray! Makeup Revolution Amazing Makeup Fixing Spray smells divine! It provides an even mist once I got used to using it and now it's almost an everyday staple! Full review coming soon!

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick 20

If you were to ask what's my favourite drugstore lipstick I would have to say Kate Moss Rimmel lipsticks, this makes my 6th one and I love them all. I have a mixture of the original finish black tubes and a couple of the red tubed matte formulas and I can't fault them. I've been so tempting by MAC Candy Yum Yum that I thought I should try my hand with a drugstore bright fuchsia pink before breaking the bank in MAC! This is the shade '20' and it is a cremesheen finish!

Rimmel Scandaleyes nude eyeliner

The last two items I picked up were for the eyes. I've been using lighter colours in my waterline recently and after finding white was sometimes a bit too light, especially with coppery/warm toned eyeshadow I wanted a nude liner! Rimmel Scandaleyes are my mum's go to eyeliner and I have to admit, they are pretty good! I just wish there were most shades in stock at my local Superdrug!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Pink Gold

Last item - another Maybelline Colour Tattoo, this time in the shade Pink Gold. I like to use my Bad on Bronze when doing a coppery look I want to last all day so I thought I'd start to do pink shimmery looks too! I'm still unsure of what lip colour to wear with these to stop looking like quite as much of a barbie so please some help would be appreciated!

Empties | May

TRESemmé Vibrant Naturals Conditioner Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Batiste L'Oreal Elvive Nutri Gloss

I can't believe that I've managed to get this post up within the first week of June! Finishing my coursework has freed my time up so much more now so I can lots of posts written up plus the light is now so much more helpful as it's light enough before I leave for college and when I get home! I used up quite a few products again this month but don't fear the products actually last quite a while, I just have so many half started products in my stash!

TRESemmé Vibrant Naturals Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance Batiste Tropical

Another huge bottle of TRESemmé Vibrant Naturals finished! I love TRESemmé conditioner and if it's on offer it becomes my conditioner for the next few months. The bottles are massive and the Vibrant Naturals range is one I picked up back in the Summer to dilute my Stargazer Magenta dye as it is silicone free. It leaves my hair super soft and will be a repurchase for when I finally clear my stash of all hair and skincare! Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance is an always in my routine, I use it in my wet post wash hair, after it's dried and every night to help keep my poor over processed hair feeling soft and easier to detangle, already have another bottle on the go! Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo, I write about this all the time in my empties posts; my favourite scent and it works so well!

Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo L'Oreal Nutri Gloss Shampoo Nutri Gloss Light

L'Oreal Nutri Gloss was a range I first started to use in Sixth Form and I've repurchased a couple of times but then left in my drawer for so long I'm surprised it didn't separate! I think I honestly prefer the normal version than the light version now my hair isn't as greasy as it used to me (thank you hormones for balancing out!) and it provides me a softer cleaner hair for longer. However if you are a girl who needs to wash their hair every day or would like to move away from washing everyday the Nutri Gloss Light shampoo will really help with that!

Wax Lyrical No7 Mascara The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel Yves Rocher Jardins de Monde Origins Super Spot Remover

I finished a candle for the first time in a long time! I started this candle at Christmas and did a review as part of Blogmas here. It lasted a long time burnt evenly from the first use, good quality candle but then I wouldn't except a poor quality one from Wax Lyrical. Two little shower gels used up, Yves Rocher Jardins de Monde Magnolia Flower that I bought in the Amsterdam store in August and The Body Shop Mango mini. I liked the Yves Rocher one but I think the bottle only lasted me about 2 weeks which was a bit disappointing! I love The Body Shop Mango range and did a little post about the whole range here. Super Spot Remover from Origins did me well at the time but I'm not sure it's the best but it's dried up in the bottle so yeah bit of waste of a costly price there! Finally, No7 Exquisite Curl (now discontinued) has been kicking around for far too long (I find products can last past their use by date) has given up the ghost and dried up, I got plenty of wear from this and I'm kinda sad they've discontinued it now!

What have you finished up this month? Toodle pip till next time! xxx

Lifestyle | Birthday Post!

On the 24th May, I turned 19 whilst out in The Netherlands with my parents to spend some time with my lovely boyfriend and his family! It was such an amazing few days I thought I would share my memory with you all!

That morning, Jeff came to meet us at hotel (Hotel Oostereiland) and bought me up a little cupcake apologising that he was really sorry but he hadn't had time to make a cake and this is all he could do. I smelt something fishy but knowing Jeff, this is something he would legitimately do! I had the most amazing view for breakfast looking out over the harbour and spent it opening cards from my family and my mum's joke present of a set of spotty John Lewis cutlery that she'd bought all the way over in her suitcase haha!

Hoorn Harbour

We had a lovely wander around town and went for ice creams at Vivaldi, the best ice cream I have ever eaten in my life, I don't have a picture of the one I had this time but this is the gorgeous one I had in the summer! They are so creamy and you can add whipped double cream to the top as well!

Ankh Killstar shirt Vivaldi Ice Cream

We headed back to Jeff's and picked up a few pieces I wanted to bring back from the store - flavoured tea (Pickwick is the best and I can't seem to find flavoured black tea in England!), knäckebröd and bugles - whilst Jeff and his parents finished off the final pieces at his house! After a little while of opening cards and presents from Jeff and his parents, the most amazing cake was brought out by Jeff, turns out while we shopped in Amsterdam on Saturday, his parents and cousin were hard at work making this beautiful, so fitting cake!

Beauty Makeup Birthday 19 cake

Then we had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine before a BBQ kindly cooked by Jeff in the rain as we sat indoors, I felt so at home and so loved with my family and extended family around me! I was so spoiled by Jeff so a Nars birthday haul is to come!
