Review | Schwarzkopf Got2B Mind Blowing Fast Dry Hairspray*

Summer's on it's way but with the good old windy English weather, I still need to control my hair for a bit longer yet! I received Schwarzkopf Got2B Mind Blowing Fast Dry Hairspray* from being a Schwarzkopf VIP (read more here) and I'd thought I share my view here as well. Available to purchase at Superdrug for £4.05 here.

I use this product to keep my hair curly as even though it is naturally curly, they don't stay they fall or go puffy. If I need to keep my curl game high then this sweet scented spray really does the job. I love how it sprays a really nice fine mist rather than a intense spray that causes a really hard crunchy curl!

Schwarzkopf Got2B Mind Blowing Fast Dry Hairspray

My first impression was that it smelled really sweet, again like the Mind Blowing Xpress Dry Spray* like Blackcurrant and Apple squash! I don't know why but I really like it! It was really easy not to go crunchy, the nice fine mist prevents it's and overspraying as long as you keep your distance, I can also brush it out which is great! It held my curls so that's the main answer, great! The colour shades are really nice and look like pretty pieces to keep on a vanity. The can is quite travel friendly which makes it helpful as there is a click seal cap which will stay on in a suitcase and only 300ml but definitely smaller than old style hairspray cans (think the gold L'Oreal cans!).

Have you tried anything from the Got2B Mind Blowing range, let me know in the comments!

Review | Waitrose Pure Eye Make Up Remover

Everyone who wears a lot of eye makeup knows the struggle of having that left over mascara or eyeliner the following morning or ruining every face cloth you own with dark stubborn eye makeup... but now there are so many different eye makeup removers and micellar waters on the market that it is hard to track down the best one even if it doesn't have all the hype *cough* bioderma *cough*.

I picked this up doing my food shop about 4 weeks ago and have used it ever since my other two on the go (read about those here) ran out! It was only 99p reduced from £1.99 as the whole Pure range from Waitrose was on offer. I don't really suffer from sensitive skin as I used to but I always find that any skincare for my eyes it is best to go with a sensitive version!
Waitrose Pure Eye Makeup Remover

There isn't much of a scent to this makeup remover which is great as why would you need one? It goes on your eyes and it comes off again! Plus I love how with the Pure range all the ingredients are 100% naturally deprived.

Now to most important part of this review, does it work? Yes! I've found just two drops of my cotton pad (you know when you tip the bottle whilst covering the hole with the cotton pad, do that twice) removes all of my eye makeup and my eyebrows, then repeat on the other side. I never have needed to apply more than one cotton pad to each eye, therefore this lasts forever.

If you're almost out of your micellar water, makeup remover or face wipes, I really recommend popping to Waitrose and pick this up! For the price and the quality, I'm going to be using this for a while! Currently half price now as well here. What's your favourite eye makeup remover?

Brands To Watch | Spring Summer 2015

I'm starting a new series on my blog today with brands to watch as I have noticed a lot of brands coming onto my radar I was unaware of before and now hitting it big time! This season I have noticed a lot of amazing brands that I think in the next few months will really take off!

Violet Plum Jewellery

Violet Plum Jewellery

Violet Plum Jewellery are a brand that I came across on Instagram (shameless self promotion here!) I love the boho/festival/indie vibe the whole collection has and the crystals draw out the witchy side of me! I love crystals and I think that the two pieces I've included photos of are amazing! They stock a whole range of jewellery, including a gorgeous pair of shell earrings! Based in England

Violet Plum Jewellery

Kiss Cosmetics

I did a review on one of the KISSstick's from this brand early on in the Spring and I have to say this brand are bringing out lots of amazing new products! They are cruelty free, based on providing lip products to suit everyone at affordable prices. If you haven't checked out my review, you can read it here. Available to buy from the Kiss Cosmetics website.
KISS Cosmetics KISSstick

Beauty Crowd

Beauty Crowd

This is more of a company than a brand, Beauty Crowd recently launched as a website so us Brits could get hold of all those beauty products that we've only ever been able to get very overpriced or with a heavy tax duty on arrival! They stock a whole range from LA Girl to Milani and Dr PawPaw to Nicka K. If you're ever fancying a product from across the ocean, check here first!

Save me from the hairdressing disasters!

My hair has been the bane of my existence for quite some time and I've only just finally got a hairdresser with the right style for me! I love my hairdresser that I have now but I know that I haven't always had the best cut for my hair (thick, now damaged, and was long) and then it was really not loved once I'd dyed my hair and when it was natural it was all one heavy length that got greasy so fast! Cool Blades (who I've worked with before about the right hair cut for you here) sent over this amazing infograph that will help you know how to work your hair type!

Haul | Makeup Revolution May 2015

A little while ago I put on twitter (follow me here!) that I was writing up a Makeup Revolution Haul post, well I've finally got round to it! I didn't pick up many items as I'm on a super strict budget at the moment - student life isn't always fun :( - but that's the perk with budget brands, you can buy more!

Makeup Revolution Go! Palettes

Firstly, I picked up these 2 palettes (I actually got 2 others but I'm saving these for a giveaway in the summer!) and they look gorgeous. I already own the Go! Palette, full review here, but I needed to buy a backup just incase they stopped selling it when my beloved bronzer ran out! This palette is a must for pale girls, the bronzer isn't too muddy or too grey and blends out amazingly well! Go! To Heaven is a gorgeous palette with beautiful pinky cool neutral shadows that are perfect for everyday use.

Focus & Fix Concealer and I Tint My Brows Makeup Revolution

These are the other two products I picked, Focus & Fix Concealer in Fairest to use on my undereyes, so far so good when mixed in with my L'Oreal Touche Magique concealer. Really like and good at covering up those dark circles at 6:30am!
My everlasting (that post is over a year old!) Maybelline Brow Drama has got a bit too dark for me now as I'm almost half way of growing out my dyed medium brown hair to my ashy medium blonde hair so I picked up this, I Tint My Brows in Light/Medium is a brow mascara that holds those brows in place all day. I'm not such a great fan of the wand on this and the crunchy feeling it gives my brows but it holds them bad boys in place all day!

Favourites | April

This post is awfully late and we are almost half way through May but I still thought I would share my favourites as I am really loving these products this last month that has gone past!
April Favourites Victoria Secret, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Essence, Eyeko

(forgot to photgraph!) ♥ Makeup Go! Palette, blogged about here and MOTD with it here, has been my fallback product this month, used almost everyday that I've worn makeup and I feel that it will be my staple summer palette - it's coming away with me to the Netherlands and to Sherwood Forest that's for sure! It's so minimal yet there is plenty of product in the palette, already bought a backup!

April Favourites Victoria Secret, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Essence, Eyeko

Eyeko Skinny Liner, this liner has got my liner game back on strong! After month's of using Essence Liquid Ink liner I've given in back to my felt tip liner roots! I was getting to the point where no liner would look right but after getting a free sample of Eyeko Skinny Liner from a magazine (was it Marie Claire, who knows) I've fallen in love with it! I know Leanne Lim Walker on YouTube uses it in a lot of videos and I think when it runs out I will most likely repurchase it again!

Victoria Secret Love Spell fragrance mist has been used most days since I purchased it in Schiphol airport when I landed at Jeff's at the end of March. It's fragrance is sweet and long-lasting and I am so glad I picked it up on a 3 for €33 deal with 2 other fragrances as I was dying to try them! When Jeff hopefully comes over in August I might get him to pick up a few more for me!

April Favourites Victoria Secret, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Essence, Eyeko

Essence The Lash Curler* mascara, go to of the month, I posted a photo on my Facebook (selfless promote there ;) ) of how amazing it makes my lashes look for such a cheap affordable mascara! Full review coming soon!

Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Soft Brown has been my staple brow since it arrived, full review here. I find I get such good definition and it matches my growing out ash blonde natural roots with my dyed mid brown hair, I can't wait to see how much better I can get at that brow game when I have more practice with this product!

Netflix has been my addiction and I'm on my third month of having it now, finishing all of The Vampire Diaries yesterday was a heartbreaking moment when I then found myself sobbing along with Elena, and I hope season 6 starts again before Christmas! I've just started to watch Pretty Little Liars and I'm getting rather confused but I think all the girl drama will hopefully keep me hooked on this programme!

Review | MINT London Nail Polishes

This review has been a long time coming, firstly I bought this polishes in February at Professional Beauty (a beauty show held at eXcel London for beauty therapist, hair stylists, makeup artists etc) and then lost them for a good 2 months - clever right? I'd have to be lying if I wasn't unsure of the quality of these polishes when I first picked them up, the show deal was £10 for 4 polishes and some other goody bag bits (nail wheels, nail stickers and other nail bits) but I've been pleasantly surprised!

MINT London Nail Polishes
MINT nail polishes are available for £2.99 on the MINT London site. From left to right the shades are: Atrium, Hyper, Epic and Latte. And of course I have left it so late that these exact polishes aren't available anymore on the website, boo :( but there are similar available, but the quality of these polishes for the price are worth checking out the other shades that are available!

MINT London Nail Polishes Swatch

The wear time of these polishes are about 5-7 days depending on how much you use your hands and nails for and the thickness you apply it, definitely better to thin coats of this polish and it sits so much smoother on your fingers! The quality of these polishes for the price is outstanding and it's such a shame these colours aren't available anymore but you should definitely look into the other shades available!

MOTD | 90's Inspired Cool Neutral Eye with Nude Lips

I think Wednesday's are far by my best makeup days, I'm still unsure why! This look I created on Wednesday for college and it was really simple, completed in less than 30 minutes and lasted all day. I really like how my photos turned out for this look as my big bathroom window is getting a lovely amount of light at 8am now!

90's Inspired Cool Neutral Eye with Nude Lips

I don't know what to call this look which is why it has such a long name but please if you do comment below and I can change it but I'm definitely recreating this for work tomorrow! Firstly my base is The Body Shop Tea Tree Primer, a mix of L'Oreal True Match in R1 and Rimmel Match Perfection in 100 Ivory, L'Oreal True Match Touche Magique Concealer in Ivory Beige all set with MAC Fix+. Once that had dried, I powder set it with ELF High Definition powder (which might be a bit harder to get now in the UK but any translucent loose powder is the same) then I used my I ♥ Makeup Go! Palette for highlighting and contouring. I then finished with ELF Blush in Tickled Pink (light peachy pink).

90's Inspired Cool Neutral Eye with Nude Lips

Moving onto the eyes, I primed with Zoeva Eye Primer in Pearl, then went straight to my Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1. Starting with a good sweep in the crease (using a medium fluffy shader brush) of Drama before packing Too Grey into the outer two thirds of my lid with a flat shader brush. To deepen the outer V I used Player and blended it all out and through to ensure there were no harsh edges and wasn't too intense. For the inner third I used Breathe to make the lot brighter but always remember to blend blend blend through this look. For my brow bone I used Luna to just lift the brow bone without too much colour or any shimmer.

90's Inspired Cool Neutral Eye with Nude Lips

I'm trailing the Skinny Liner from Eyeko at the moment and I have to say I like it, I did a thin line with quite a straight flick from the centre of my eye. For mascara I used Essence The Lash Curler as it's my go to at the moment, so so good! Detailed review coming soon! My brows were Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Soft Brown and set with I ♥ Makeup I Tint My Brows in Light Medium.

Finishing off my look with Helen E Waterproof lip liner in Shade 3 and Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in 04 Rose Tweed. Another quick spritz of Fix+ and I was set. My hair was just how it went after sleeping in two plaits, please ignore my roots, I'm desperately growing this all out!

Coming Soon | Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

Another amazing Zoeva launch is coming! Zoeva have branched out from their makeup brushes into a whole world of amazing cosmetics that have the brilliant quality of their brushes!

The new cream eyeliner collection - Resort - is coming just in time for the start of the Summer here in Europe. The colours are perfect for every resort/ destination this season, Europe, USA, Australia wherever you're going or staying these colours are created especially for this upcoming season!

Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

"an intense color spectrum, inspired by the sunset mood in a tropical hideaway" is how Zoeva are promoting these shades and when you see them you will totally agree!

There are 4 shades in this collection adding 3 more colours to the original Black Lace cream eyeliner that are warm toned and will look amazing with a tan! All the shades will be €6,80, so super affordable!

Baroque Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

Baroque is a golden shimmer bronze that has warm tones running through it, it reminds me of and appears to be a slightly darker more golden version of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo is On and On Bronze. Lighter shades I think would work best with this shade, lighter golden or shimmery creams would be amazing!

After Hours Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

After Hours is a dark lagoon petrol that would look brilliant paired with light blue or silver shades! I feel like all the shades have pairing colours that will look lovely in the summer in the sunshine!

Magic Moment Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

Magic Moment, the shade that has caught my eye the most, is a gorgeous deep burgundy eggplant (aubergine!), that would go perfectly with pinks, burgundies, golds, neutral - I'd say the most versatile shade in my opinion!

Black Lace Zoeva Cream Eyeliner Resort Collection

And the original staple, Black Lace, a pigmented creamy eyeliner ready to make though Angel Flicks ;) stand out in the crowd.
Will you be purchasing any of these? I think I'll be getting the set! It's much more affordable and easier to access in Europe/ UK of the Sigma liners that's for sure! Available from May 11th on Zoeva

Book Review | FarFetch Curates: Food*

FarFetch Curates: Food

Now I have only ever done I think one or two possible book reviews here on Angel Flicks but when the lovely Ayesha contacted me asking if I wanted to give this book a go, of course I said yes! I find that finding the best places to eat is really hard, particularly as I don't know many areas that well and the best reviews online tend to be for the places where you would go if you were dressed for the Oscars rather than the runway.

FarFetch Curates: Food

FarFetch created this book to combine the fashion world with the food world, the most fashionable places in the most fashionable cities to eat. Now don't get me wrong, some foody books are just a lot of adjectives thrown together about restaurants that have paid a lot of money to be in there, whereas actually reading this book has shown me that sometimes turning to the bloggers that we know and love will give us the best suggestions.

FarFetch Curates: Food

The book includes interviews and pieces with restuarant owners as well as bloggers with their pieces about the best meals at some of their favourite places and it's got me dying to travel to some of these places - Upper East Side for brunch is the dream!

Empties | March And April

I didn't have the time to do my empties post in March but I kept all my products ready to do a joint, Spring Empties post this month! I definitely used up a lot of things, trying to destash!

Liz Earle, B Pure Micellar Water, The Body Shop NSPA

I got through 2 of my staples this spring, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish! These are the limited editions scents, I bought the larger one (Orange Flower and Chamomile) individually (now out of stock) and the smaller pump is from the Cleanse and Polish Beauty Trio in Grapefruit and Patchouli. I love these limited edition scents as they work just as well but then smell all different!

I finished up 2 different products from The Body Shop that I've have kicking around for a while now and I have mixed feelings about them! The Mango Shower Gel was just the same as any old shower gel in my opinion, I liked the fruity scent but it was really hard to get the last out of the bottle! Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover was a product that I fell in love with once I started remembering to shake before use! It removes really well but it won't be on my repurchase list because of the price and I'm currently trying out a much more affordable contender!

I finished my B. Pure Micellar Water as well (I've had all of these kicking around a while!) and I can't say it was amazing and I can't say it was bad. Definitely worked better the less eye makeup I wore!

Another shower gel (I told you I was on a roll) was a hit in the blogger world around Christmas (when I purchased mine) and I've only just got round to finishing it! NSPA Cheeky Cranberry Chocolate (Christmas Scent) Shower and Bath Gel was a really lovely, slightly creamy shower gel that smelled so good! I think NSPA shower gels are a strong competition for my favourite of all time from The Little Bubble Co. When I've cleared my stash, definite repurchase of some of their gels soon!

Batiste Clynol Pearl Drops Oral B 3D White, Porefessional

Batiste, every long haired lazy girls dream in a can, tropical is my favourite scent as seems to work the best with my hair - everyone has their favourite as I always buy it supersize when it's on offer, bargain! Clynol Luminous Oil has been in my life for about 1 1/2 years now and I've only just been using properly and finished it up, I always used it on wet and dry hair to make my hair look smoother and feel softer, full review here!

Toothpaste is a necessity and I love a good whitening one! These two are some of my favourites with Oral B 3D white and Pearl Drops reoccuring quite regularly here on Angel Flicks!

Lastly, a Benefit Porefessional mini that I used to use on a Friday when I was in the salon all day then kitchen all night (so glad to finish my job there!) so I needed makeup that would last! It worked really well all though I find if I didn't exfoliate and treat my skin well I broke out after use so I would never be able to use it everyday!

Self promote time, please like my new Facebook page Angel Flicks for all news and updates!
