#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 31 New Year's Resolutions!

It's here, the final day of Blogmas and I'm happy to say I did it! Everyday for 1 month! I definitely need a break from blogging as the real world has caught up with me so I will be MIA for a little while now, probably for the next week whilst I get back on track with college and personal life! Sorry angels!

This year's resolution will be rounded up in a post to come but this is the one's for 2015!

1) Get my head down with college work

I definitely want to do well this year and pass all my practicals first time and get distincitions in all my coursework. I sound super nerdy but I want the best qualification I can get by the end of Summer 2016 which involves a lot of hard work but I'll make it somehow - I hope!

2) Save not spend!

I've dropped into my savings account quite a few times this year and it's kinda annoyed me thinking back at how much I could have had in there ready for big purchases such as a new laptop (that is kinda needed as this one is starting to show it's age), a car and work equipment!

3) Clear out the junk

I have an unbelievable amount of junk in my bedroom and my life in generally that needs to be gone. Forget holding onto the past and make way for the future - just need to be brave enough to do this now

4) Stop taking everything out on Jeff

Jeff, bless him, tries his best to be the best long distance boyfriend ever but since he isn't there as a shoulder to cry on when things get tough I always end up shouting at my phone in distress at him and I really shouldn't. I always regret my emotional hysteria and would like to try and control myself....

5) Don't crash the flipping car again

After 2 car crashes in November, I really don't want another one. Fortunately I wasn't badly hurt and neither were the other drivers but I was very shaken up by having someone crash into the back and then someone else drive straight into my left headlighty area, and £550 for each repair is a big bugger! One cheque of £550 from the other insurance has been posted but I'm unsure whether I'll ever see the other money back as 1 month after the second crash the other driver suddenly decided it was my fault when my insurance started chasing her.... great, why are some humans so delightful? If it was my fault why didn't you claim straight away? Hmm?

Rant over haha! Have a wonderful new year! Toodle pip till next time! xxx

#BigBlogmasProject2104 | Day 30 ♥ 2014 Makeup Favourites

2014 has 1 day left, I'm not particularly shocked by this fact as this year has gone so slowly at points for me and I'm definitely glad to move on in 2015. My favourites are a mixture of budget and high end, although I can't afford all high end makeups when there is drugstore available so some are just budget brilliance!

Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes

I ♥ Makeup Parental Advisory palette has so many amazing shades in it and I find it so versatile for every makeup look I would like, I find them so pigmented and amazing staying, a must for everyone! Urban Decay Naked 2 is another fundamental in my year, Jeff gave it to me for my 18th in May and I used it throughout the summer. It gives a really nice metallics and perfect transitioning shows.

Favourite Foundations

Rimmel Wake Me Up gives a lovely dewy yet not finish. It makes me skin look healthy and does look like I got some more sleep than I really did! I find it's great for days where my skin looks dull or I'm not feeling so great. If I fancy something a bit more luxurious or glamorous looking that needs to last a while, Revlon Photoready Foundation comes into play. It gives me a medium build-able coverage that is really good for days when you want use your face as your main feature rather eyes or lips if you get want you mean.

Favourite Blush, Bronze and Highlight

I got the MAC Crew Highlighter from Cohorted and it was the best thing I've got on there so far! I find it not glittery but making highlight with the simplest of shimmer that is barely noticeable - I find it great for days where I want to look photo ready at any point and I definitely prefer this highlighter to anything else. Makeup Revolution Baked Bronzer in Golden Days reminds so much of the bronzer shades of MAC MSF just from how it looks in the pan. I use this with a large fluffy brush to warm up the skin or I use it with my Zoeva Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush to contour with, versatile, cheap and cheery! Beauty UK Baked Blush in Rose Rouge (02) is the only product I own by Beauty UK that I know of and it's been such a good buy. If you like pink rosy cheeks that look like a natural flush with a slight highlighter shimmer then it is for you! I'm going to invest in the other baked blushes in the new year as they are so good! Well done Beauty UK!

Favourite Lip Products

MAC Malificent was a great LE of this year, possibly my favourite release except The Simpson's which I missed out on, however this lipstick is the perfect blue toned red and I wish they would make True Love's Kiss a permanent shade as I'm going to be so sad when this lipstick runs out! Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in 04 was my original pinky nude lipstick and is still a good competitor in the Kylie Jenner-esque with a cremesheen finish.
EOS medicated tangerine is the best lip balm in my ownership and got me through stressful, sunsore, windsore lips!

Best Primers

Benefit are the queen of accessible primers. They are on the more expensive side compared to their drugstore counterparts. I've got through a couple of PoreFessional minis this year and I have to say they are the best primers I've had. I use it on days where I apply my makeup at 6:30am and need it to last till 10:30pm, and it does - need a full size of this! Stay Don't Stray was a new product to me this year when I tried a sample of it in my birthday present from my best friend and I soon got myself a full size product! It works as a concealer and eyeshadow primer and it helps hide those dark circles by almost letting you have two layers of concealer but without the cakiness!
The PriEYEmer from All About Betty was the best thing I've picked up in Tesco all year. I now can't seem to find it and I'm unsure if they still even make the makeup line, but it is amazing. I've hit pan now and I'm going to be upset when it runs out as I've not found another amazing primer for the tiniest £1 price tag. Tea Tree Primer from the Body Shop is a favourite of the Blogosphere as it does it job and hold back breakouts. I honestly think the everyday application of Tea Tree infused products has cured by skin of many of it's products.

What have been your favourites this year? Toodle pip till next time! xxx

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 29 Blogmas Round Up

Blogmas is almost over with New Year's Day in sight, meaning that we should all reflect back on how we've done! I've been really good with Blogmas and kept up with every post, even if some are super short, I still feel accomplished that I have indeed written a blogpost every day of December whilst at school, working and spending precious time with Jeff before he goes back to The Netherlands next weekend.

My most loved posts have been:
Day 23 - The Christmas Jumper Wishlist
This is not a Xmas Jumper

I've really enjoyed BigBlogmasProject and would love to do it again next year and would like to thank Cole from ColeoftheBall for organising the whole thing. I know many other people have been doing Blogmas without the project, so I would like to congratulate all bloggers who have completed blogging every day!

I listed my favourite bloggers here and my favourite Blogmas posts here!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 28 Lush Northern Lights Bath Bomb

Tonight I had a lovely warm wintery bath catching up on Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman Vlogmas videos, still not there!

I used half a Northern Lights bath bomb (forgot to photograph it whole but I'm sure you all know what it looks like!) and my boyfriend made a really nice gif of it melting so I wanted to write about it and show it.

I don't think it is available online anymore but it may if you're extremely lucky still be in your local store so it might be worth a look!

Hope you're enjoying the holidays! Toodle pip till next time! xxx

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 27 What I got for Christmas

Blogmas is such a struggle to complete! I still have so many normal posts to do but Blogmas takes up so much time, still powering through though! Christmas was really good this year and I was spoiled quite a bit! I've photographed my favourite presents but I still had a few little bits that I forgot to take pictures of. My lovely boyfriend bought me and him promise rings that are almost identical except mine has a diamond heart and his is engraved with "Promise?" and my says "Promise." as it is something we always say to each other, isn't he sweet? His parents and him bought me Black Opium in the largest bottle available which was so nice and it smells amazing! He also picked me up the MAC Rocky Horror Blush which is the perfect darkened rose colour! The giant cuddly bear was also from him after I saw it in Wilko and fell for it!
I still can't believe how much he treated me this year!

Between my mum and my Granny I got 4 John Green books, I'm really happy about these as it is a motivation to get me to read more. Jeff and I have also bought quite a few XBox games this week to try and help me relax rather than just constantly working. I'm really looking forward to reading these!

My mum treated me to the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Pot Set which is amazing as I've never owned a Benefit blush before so that's really nice, plus it looks so pretty! She treated me to a No7 Illuminated mirror which is so much better than my current IKEA mirror, much clearer and the light really helps. My dad had spotted a Telegraph beauty set that he ordered for me and I knew nothing about it! It's really nice that he saw it in his paper and ordered it for me! It contained a Nails Inc gel effect polish and gel top coat, Sanctuary Spa Body Butter, Elemis Spa Shower Cream, Wild About Beauty lipstick, a mini Time Bomb Day Cream and a mini L'Occitane Essence Sublime (not photographed). They all smell amazing and the nail colour is really nice and I put it on this morning and love it!
These two bits are from Dunelm and my mum picked them up but my brother gave me them. They are great for cotton pad or cotton buds (Q-Tips) storage and I think I might see if there is a slightly smaller one I can store cotton buds in. The bath tub is ceramic and I think I'll store my most used polishes in and my base and top coat! I think they really really cute and I wish that Dunelm made it a larger range of things!

Things I forgot to photograph/couldn't really justify more photos! My brother bought me Bambi pyjamas from Primark and have the cute saying "If kisses were snowflakes, I'd send you a blizzard" which is really cute and they are so cozy! My gran also bought me Big Bear Hug pyjamas from M&S which have the super cozy fleecy bottoms so I can't wait to wear all of them! Following the warm theme, my gran got me a super cosy extra large teddy bear blanket from Dunelm in bright pink to match my bedroom, since Thursday Jeff and my mum have been trying to still it from me but it's definitely mine! You should all have one if you like being comfy and cozy!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 24 Christmas Eve Traditions

Christmas Eve is upon us! It is definitely excited and it very fun! I have a few Christmas Eve traditions but not too many!

Firstly, me and mum always go shopping in St Ives in the morning to pick up last minute buys and the meat which was ordered last month. It takes varied lengths of time depending how many people turn up, this year was relatively painless!

Secondly, I always go to Church. I go every other Sunday anyway as I'm too busy for all the time but I like going to Church on Christmas Eve as it's all festive and great!

Finally I stay downstairs with my family the whole evening as I feel it is nice to do for a change and be a bit more sociable! Definitely will be replying to my comments as everyone else sleeps tomorrow afternoon as I'm still panicking as I haven't even finished wrapping yet!

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 23 The Christmas Jumper Wishlist

I only have 1 Christmas Jumper which I posted about here, but walking round Cambridge yesterday I saw a lot of really nice ones, just couldn't justify this close to Christmas! It wouldn't get worn enough! Sorry with the confusion of yesterday's post, I published it on my mobile which was a bit silly as it was still sat there unpublished when I went to look today great.. plus I've been super busy and I was going to reply to all comments tonight and try my best to return them but time has run away again!

This is not an xmas jumper river island
River Island
This is my kind of Christmas jumper, black. I think that this would be good just as a cozy yet corny jumper. It doesn't have a garish or awfully designed image on the front that just looks horrible but still is a rubbish christmas joke! Now reduced if you want it for next year!
Marks and Spencers Penguin Jumper
Marks and Spencers
I don't think this jumper is particularly Christmassy because if you like penguins you could wear this whenever you want! It is quite similar to the John Lewis 2014 Christmas range but it's just a cozy fluffy jumper!

Another really sweet jumper that isn't too in your face; if you read my Christmas Decoration Wishlist post than I really like reindeer and stags at the moment. Again in the sale!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 22 Food

Tonight I went out for my mum's birthday, she's 55 today! Happy Birthday! We went to the Cutter Inn in Ely which has a few other sister restaurants such as the White Horse in Billericay.  I had a steak and Swiss cheese wrap with chips and a Pepsi, stole Jeff's onion rings ;) . It was amazing! Jeff had a rare rib eye steak with pepper sauce, he enjoyed it, I wouldn't! The food was very good and would definitely recommend it as the portions are huge!

I forgot to take a picture of my dessert but it was a really sweet sticky toffee pudding which was very yummy!
Hope you've had a good day and promise to post better tomorrow and earlier!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 20 Christmas Costa

Today I went shopping in Huntingdon, quickly trying to finish Christmas shopping and do all my errands with Jeff! It was a really nice few hours out before I have work this evening!

Christmas limited editions are always really good rather and Costa never fail to disappoint! Today I was treated by Jeff to a panini and hot chocolate! Bacon, brie and cranberry panini is a limited edition change to one of the usual paninis of Bacon and Brie.

We both had White Hot Chocolate, which smell identical to cupcake mix! So so sweet but so yummy! Jeff doesn't really like sweet things but it is so milky and yummy with cream and cherry sauce! I've tried the Black Forest Hot Chocolate and it is also really yummy! The next one I want to try is the orange and chocolate hot chocolate!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 19 Favourite Christmas Blog Posts

Today's post is a roundup post of all my favourite Christmas posts yesterday. I want to say thank you to the support of yesterday's post, it meant a lot. Today I picked up Jeff from the airport and our takeaway pizza took an hour and half to come so I've only just got round to blogging!

JesstasticsChristmas Nail Inspiration

I love Jess' posts they are always great however this post was really inspiring! The nails are so cute and would love to recreate (if only I had my gel kit but I won't get it till February!) They would look amazing!

Urban Beauty - Matte Winter Bronzers

I am poop at finding good colours for contour but this post from Ollie really helped me find them! Thank you Ollie!

Lucinda Freya - Cosy Winter Nights

Cosy nights are something I dream of on a Sunday night where I just about come to a stop. I very rarely get a day or night off in the week but on a Sunday I tend to just crash at about 8. It made me find a hand cream to go straight on my wishlist.

There are lots of other posts I've enjoyed this year but I was silly and forget to save all the links! Got any good Christmas/Winter posts, leave them in the comments for me to check out!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 18 My yearly chatty post

Be warned it's a long one! Today's post is meant to be a 'free post' meaning we can put up anything we want, and I'm stuck. I have so many products I want to review and I just don't have the time to photograph any of it which really sucks! I'm so busy with college, coursework, work, and Blogmas - I'm never at home to take any photos and if I am the lighting is poop!

I've finally finished college and just have a 4 hour shift at the salon I work in tomorrow before I'm finished for Christmas. It's been a busy term but I'm really happy that I only have 4 practical assessments to do and I've got 100% in all my coursework except one piece I need to resubmit which is great as it's only a tiny bit! I've been so stressed this term as I haven't been in education for a year and found getting back into work really hard! I've got 2 pieces of coursework to complete over the holiday which is annoying but barely, it's just all the notes I need to write it up which is worse!

Jeff is coming home for Christmas tomorrow which is great as I haven't seen him for 2 months which is great as not seeing him for 2 months has been horrible! He is here the whole Christmas break which will be so good, I'm just sad not to see his family for New Year as it is mental in The Netherlands, firework crazy! Think the London show but just in a small town! He's been the best boyfriend ever this year even if I wanted to kill him sometimes and I've had many a heart ache when I've been upset and he's been so far away but never did I think that it would last till a second year of relationship after celebrating our anniversary in August. You know when you've found that special person and that was now.

Blogging has been amazing this year and I've loved how supportive everyone has been to think I've been blogging a year almost now is crazy and I can't believe how much Angel Flicks has grown! I really excited to hit 1000 followers and to do a massive thank you giveaway but I'm not sure how long it'll be till I get there!

My family has been through hell and back this year and I'm hoping 2015 will get better. In March my dad had a heart attack at around 2/3am and it was the worse moment of my life. I never knew my dad wasn't invincible. He was never  ill, always happy, sometimes stressed with work but nothing bad, he was my dad, he was my superman. The moment my mum woke me up to tell me to get dressed she needed me, I felt my heart sink. Never did I think I would become the glue of my family holding us together through the hard times, I'm pathetic, I'm nothing to hold anything together but somehow I managed. I cried for about 30 seconds when she told me that their was a paramedic in the other room of my house, I didn't hear them come in even though there was 3 strange people in my house and my dad that could be dying laying there. When we got to the hospital I thought they'll say it was a false alarm it'll be okay, till my Dad gave me his wedding ring and I was almost sick; I couldn't cope with the idea of loosing my dad, not then, not ever. I have to say at that moment I didn't know if I'd see him again. It was a long wait in the waiting room till 7:50am when they came through to tell me he was okay but in ICU (intensive care unit) and I could see him. It felt strange seeing him so weak, thinking about how I would get to work, what would dinner be, how would I tell my granny what had happened when she was meant to be coming that evening. I'm glad he is on the mend now but he won't ever be the same obviously, he's a lot weaker than he was before but as I've said he's still my superman.

In April my Great Uncle Nev died and he was like a grandpa to me, he didn't speak so much, and we didn't see him that often (probably every term) but when he did it was so interesting. I really really miss him and I hate that I didn't get to say goodbye and I missed my chance to see because I didn't want to go out that day and I didn't realise I'd never see him again, at your funeral I'm so sorry I broke down, I just hated myself so much for not saying goodbye till then. I miss you and I remember your voice and your face so clearly and typing this with tears streaming down my face is so hard but I can't say these things out loud but just type them.

Things are better though, I feel like my depression and anxiety are getting better. I still have panic attacks and I still get very nervous but I feel that the world isn't so scary and I CAN and I WILL get through it to a point where I won't be scared and I won't be sad, and I hope that it encourages a lot of people that things do get better much better.

I know this isn't the usual beauty post but I felt like telling you all about what's going on as I feel that sometimes the blogging world may seem all about beauty and fashion but there is the real world too with all it's stresses and worries!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 17 Christmas Nails - Ciaté Haute House Review

Ciaté were the first brand of nail polish I ever came across as a child when I used to watch my mum have her gel nails done these were the regular polishes they used for manicures and pedicures. I loved the bottle shape, the names looked fancy, the colours were so pretty - I loved them. Ever since I haven't really thought about them except one polish that I got in a Glossybox, I always found them expensive compared to the cheaper alternative such as Rimmel!

Haute House has been on my wishlist for a long time and after finding it in TXMaxx (finally!!) I couldn't resist this autumn winter/dark polish set in the most adorable packaging!
Ciaté Haute House

The polishes themselves are little minis in 5 shades: For The Frill Of It, Sass Pot, Knee Highs, Can Can and Tickle My Fancy. These names really feet with the french Haute Couture with the popular dance shows in France. It's all really cliche and I love it!
Ciaté Haute House

Ciaté Haute House
It looks so cute in the display box and would be great as a Christmas Present for a girl friend or family member! I'm keeping my polishes in the box as it looks too good to put it away! Sorry for my awful application, this post was a bit rushed!
Ciaté Haute House

The shades are all my colour and trying to pick between them for which shade to wear on Friday is really hard, what are you favourites? Available at Ciaté and Selfridges for £22 or TXMaxx stores for £7.99 if you can find it (I suggest hunting before splurging!)

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 16 My Fave Three

My favourite 3 bloggers I have followed for different lengths of time but I really like reading their posts, watching their videos if they do them and following them on social media!

1) Miss Budget Beauty - Blog - YouTube - Instagram - Twitter

I love Khlia so much! I found her originally on YouTube then when I started blogging I've been an avid reader and can't stop following her! I had a mini fan girl moment when she followed me on twitter on Sunday haha! You should look up Khlia especially as she has two different channels, one splurge and one save it's the best of both worlds!

2) Let Me Go xo - Blog - Twitter

Estelle is one of my favourite bloggers that hasn't got millions of followers and she really should! I remember her messaging me nicely on twitter one time when I was being swamped with haters and it just shows how lovely she is! You should really follow her and get up into the 1000's of followers!

3) A Yellow Brick Blog - Blog - YouTube - Instagram -  Twitter - Facebook

Kirstie is the kind of girl I wish to be, she's beautiful, loves all the same things as I do and seems like a funny kind girl! I've followed her for a while, it was one of the first I found on Bloglovin' and if you like cheery upbeat blogs AYBB is for you!

These are my favourite 3 blogs, there are many more but I narrowed it down to these 3! Who are your favourites? Let me know in the comments so I can check them out!

#BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 15 My Favourite Christmas Films

I'm not much of a lover of Christmas films and tend to watch anything that catches my eye on Sky Movies or Amazon Instant Video however I do have a couple of favourites I try to watch each year!
Nativity 1 and 2
Nativity 1 and 2 are so so funny! I never saw them in the cinemas but the first time it came on TV I loved it! It is available on Sky Movies now which is really good and I'm sure a Freeview channel will show them over the next few weeks. Nativity 3 is out the cinemas now but I think I'll wait till next year to see that on the little screen!
Muppet's Christmas Carol
Muppet's Christmas Carol is a film that my dad always used to watch with me and my brother. He tried his best to get us into the Muppets with every film that was shown on TV being put on for us to watch and it worked. I know most of this film and could probably describe you the whole film without it being on. Very much a tradition in my house!

The Santa Clause Movie
Santa Clause, I first watched this round an old friend's of my mum's house and couldn't wait till it was shown again as I loved it! I think that Tim Allen makes an excellent Santa Clause and the collection of all the films are so good! The reindeer animation isn't the best but I think they look super super cute! I also like that the scriptwriters wrote in Father Time, Mother Nature and the Tooth Fairy as it really shows some thought rather than "let's make another Christmas film with no backstory". What's your favourite Christmas film (not including Elf!) ?

BigBlogmasProject2014 | Day 13 Simple Winter Makeup Look for under £10

Essence challenged me to do a makeup look for under £10 and I made one. I had lots of products to choose from for my look but I like this simple look the best (if you would like to see the others I can put them up on IG - leave a note in the comments!). It is good for lazy days where you can't be bothered with a whole face of makeup but would like a little bit on!

Essence Stay all-day longlasting powder Matt Sand
After my usual skincare routine and moisturiser then I started with Stay all-day longlasting powder* (£3.50) in the shade 30 Matt Sand. This is a lightweight powder with some coverage to it, I used it because I didn't really need much coverage but it was good for removing shine! It is meant to last 12 hours, I will be testing this and letting you all know!
Essence Stay all-day longlasting powder

Essence Stay all-day longlasting powder Matt Sand
Next up was kajal eyeliner* (£1) in 08 Teddy, I used this along my lid to add a line of red toned brown with a slight gold shimmer to the look. I also used this gently in my brows which I blended out with a spoolie, the shimmer is undetectable in the brows as long as you gently apply and smudge and blend through! I could have missed out the brows but I tend to fill mine in even on minimal makeup days.
Essence kajal eyeliner Teddy

The mascara was my favourite product, get BIG! LASHES volume CURL Mascara* (£2.30) is absolutely amazing! It is a bristle brush which many people prefer, I personally have no preference, it separates, volumes and makes my lashes look amazing! They remind me of 101 Eylure lashes that I used to have to wear for dance shows, me and false lashes don't get along anymore :(

Essence get BIG! LASHES volume CURL Mascara

My lips were my statement piece, I find this really helps when I wear my glasses, I didn't want to put my contacts in so early in the morning when I took this photos as I was out late last night working. I use a lipliner* (£1) in 14 Femme Fatale which is the most perfect blue toned red that I will be using a lot, it's a perfect match for MAC A True Love's Kiss. All I did was outline my lips rather than fill them in and then I use their original line lipstick* (£2) in 44 Almost Famous (sadly I can't find it on the Wilko website) which is a very glossy blue toned red.

This look totals at a mere £9.80, for a look I would happily wear out of the house! I could have done with something concealer for under my eyes but my glasses cover the tiredness!
