Review | Makeup Revolution Iconic Dreams Palette*

Another Makeup Revolution Review for you! I know I have a lot of MR on my blog, but honestly for the price and quality of these products where is there to go wrong. With Secret Santa, stockings, Christmas presents all needed within the next couple of weeks I think I'll be relying on budget buys to get me through the season without having to leave off of beans till February while recovering my bank balance.

Today I'm reviewing the Iconic Dreams* palette, this is another palette from the Iconic range which is commonly known for the Naked dupes. This is the first one of this line I had tried as I have always opted for the Salvation palettes (which are a tiny bit more expensive but there are more shades) but now I'm excited to try more.
The Iconic Dreams* palette £4 contains 12 shades that can be worn light or dark depending on the look you are going for. I find this palette can be used on it's on or mixed with other shadows as some of these are amazing brow bone highlights.

The shades are super autumnal and I think would be perfect date night colours (Jeff hurry up and move to England yeah?) and the bronze shades make an impact with a plum lip colour. I've used this shades to college and I've had many compliments on my makeup which I believe is because these colours suit the season and sometimes following the trend works in your favour!

For £4, I would really recommend this palette as it is so affordable which is always great to treat yourself or a friend! Plus until 10am Tuesday you can get a free £25 gift from Makeup Revolution when you place a £25 order! Hurry!

Budget Beauty with Essence*

Essence is a brand I was always picking up while I was in Holland at Jeff's house. It was super affordable, good quality and suitable for everyone. They do not test on animals, the products are long lasting and look cute in your collection.
Flipside PR were kind enough to send me a few products to help create a look with their products in the run up to Christmas. I was so excited to see the nail colour, which has the cutest name, in the package as it is such a good Autumn Winter/ Christmassy colour!

I created this look using a few products, one other from Essence as I completed my Sienna X training yesterday so I'm tanned and this shade is my perfect tanned colour! Even though I still look insanely pale in these photographs!
The shades I received were Quattro eyeshadow (£2.99) in 07 Over The Taupe, Colour & Go Polish (£1.59) in 169 A Hint of Love and Longlasting Lipstick (£2.29) in 07 Natural Beauty. The shades all go together really well with the nails being the accent of the look. Originally I thought the shadows would create a strong silverly smokey eye however after reading they were taupe shades and leaving the look for the morning, I've fallen in love with the gentle soft shades. If you are looking for a super pigmented quad this is definitely not for you but if you want a wash of colour to grunge up or soften a smokey eye then this is great!
Here are the swatches of the shades, unfortunately my lighting is poo at the moment but I'm determined still to blog, as you can see the colours are really gentle but I think it looks super good for a grunge eye even if they are shimmery! Natural Beauty is a 'my lips but better shade' that reminds me of Kylie Jenner-estque when applied to my lips rather than a fake tanned arm haha!

To create the look I also used the Essence CC Cream in Natural, Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette*, Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown, Soap&Glory SuperCat Eyeliner and W7 Showstopper Mascara.

The polish is a pinky red shimmery shade, making it individual from the normal seasonal shades and it is a a new favourite shade of mine! It dried really fast, within 20 minutes I was ready to go without any fear of smudging! Great! I'm not quite sure on the exact drying time, but it was much faster than I expected especially for the price!

Overall I'm really happy with these products, and I really hope to pop into a Wilko soon to pick up another couple of polishes and more darker lipsticks!

Getting Ready For #BigBlogmasProject2014

So it's almost December! Monday and the holiday season begins! I know in America it started yesterday with Thanksgiving but I'm trying my best not to get into the festive season!

This year Cole from the Coleoftheball has organised the Big Blogmas Project 2014 which she has put so much work into so make sure to check her out. Basically for the whole month of December I will be blogging daily (yep daily!) following a organised schedule of different Christmassy/Wintery posts.

I've started to plan in my head what I'm going to do but I haven't exactly starting writing the posts however I think this Sunday and on Tuesday I will be blasting out the posts to make sure I can get them ready to go up even though I don't finish college till 19th December.

I asked on Twitter the other day whether you would want me to post normal blogposts as well as I know it can get a bit samey reading lots of similar posts if you follow a lot of bloggers doing Blogmas. So answer in the comments if you wish to see these?

Mini Haul | Primark November

I'm still catching up with purchases that I bought in Milton Keynes during half term.. I know it's bad because the Christmas break is 3 weeks away! I went in and bought barely anything for me but it was presents for Jeff but they are hidden away! He checks my blog too often for me to post the presents he has on here!

I basically bought 2 furry jumpers that 1 can be worn out and the other is a pyjama top that I spent a good 10 minutes looking for after seeing in the window display.

Primark Black Fluffy Jumper
Primark Black Fluffy Jumper
Firstly is this gorgeous super cosy black fluffy jumper that it perfect for these winter days and I really wish I had bought more as I can't find my size since, obviously these jumpers are on high demand! Paired with high waisted jeans and ankle boots they make an outfit look super cute and wintery! It was £10 and I bought a 10 and I'm a 10/12.
Primark Bambi Jumper
Primark Bambi Jumper
This is so cute right? I love love love it! I make sure when it's washed I can put it on again that evening as it makes such good pyjama/loungewear jumper. The sleeves are a teddy bear like material which keeps you so warm and the front is soft sweater material. The B with Bambi and Thumper on is adorable and a must for an avid Disney fan! I think this was around £10/£12 but I'm not sure and I bought a small.

Review | Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar

I'm a stress head, if you've seen my twitter (little self-promote here) you will see that I get stressed very easily and generally panic about everything, it isn't fun but I've been like it and can generally control it. However somedays enough, is enough. On theses days I tend to get home and just curl up in a ball for a while.

Baths, as everyone knows help to relax and unwind, are my main go to when I'm home. I've been known to have a bath at 3 in the afternoon if I've come home and had enough already. LUSH is a shop that I've never really bought from before and only received gifts however I had a little splurge in Milton Keynes (I did lots of shopping and I'm trying to spread it out!) and bought myself The Comforter Bubble Bar.

The idea with bubble bars is that you crumble them under running water to create a lovely scented bubbley bath. The Comforter is a very large bubble bar and I've used it 3 times now and probably still have 3 baths left! I use it sparingly and still I get a lot of colour and bubbles.

It relaxes with scents of blackcurrant but uplifts with bergamot oil. whilst calms with cypress oil. The LUSH website says use half a bar - please note this is insane!! There is no need to use anywhere near that amount and it would be a waste, unless you are made of money I wouldn't recommend it!

If you are stressed, need to relax, or even just having trouble sleeping or want a Ribena fueled bath, try the Comforter bar at £4.75.

Review | Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette*

Makeup Revolution are the most talked about brand on the blogosphere right now, they have taken the beauty market by storm since only launching in April, I haven't heard anyone not like the brand.

They were very lovely and sent me a package full of goodies which I'm going to review in due time but first up was the Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette*. I listed this in my Makeup Revolution wishlist and was over the moon when I saw it in the parcel.

Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette
It is very similar to original two Blush and Contour palettes, I own Sugar and Spice, however I believe these shades are more highlighters than blushers as they are very shimmery compared to the original palette, yet.... It is an absolutely beautiful palette than can be used for the whole blush, highlight and contour - not easy to find in more than 3 shades (such as Naked Flushed and Sleek Contour).
Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar Blush and Contour Palette Swatches
First row
The palette is a sleek black and has a large mirror which is really good for travelling as it will mean that you won't have to carry a separate mirror.

Second Row
At the moment I am loving the matte bronzer shades and the 3rd shade on the first row for a blush/highlighter. I really hope I can find the bronzing shade in a full size bronzer because it is the perfect shade for my pale complexion.

It is currently on Makeup Revolution Website for £6.00 here or Superdrug online here (although currently out of stock at time of writing). There is plenty more to come from Makeup Revolution with new products appearing all the time, keep an eye out!

Review | Too Faced Joy To The Girls Palette

Too Faced is a brand that I've wished after for a long time and I very sparingly use my eyeliner from because it is so expensive but so lovely. Of course it is cheaper than the likes of Bobbi Brown and YSL but to a student on a budget who's trying to save up for moving out after college, it is expensive compared to other brands available at the drugstore.

I went into TX Maxx in Milton Keynes after reading a few bloggers post that Ciate Haute House was appearing in a few stores, sadly that couldn't be found but I did manage to get my best friend Christmas present sorted in October! Planning much?!

For the little price of £12.99 I got the Joy To The Girls palette. It has 14 shades and a full size LashGasm mascara and it is a holiday palette. All the shadows have cute Christmassy names and look absolutely stunning with either a pearl or matte finish.

I noticed that the beauty section had a few higher end products in their such as Too Faced, Leighton Denny and OPI. I love eyeshadow palettes and I can barely resist them however this has a full size mascara as well - yes please! The shades are really longlasting and have high pigmentation considering this swatches were done without being made damp or primer!
Too Faced LashGasm Mascara
LashGasm is an amazing mascara, I really think it is! I think it's got a bit forgotten about after the release of Better Than Sex (rudey names much!), it gives me long lashes, separation in a lovely deep intense black. It is a plastic brush but it works brilliantly if you hate clumps.
Too Faced Joy To The Girls Palette

It also contains eye ideas so you can have some inspirations for creating looks, I really want to try the weekday look next time I go out! Considering that LashGasm alone is £18 and this whole set cost £12.99 I really got my money's worth and will be going into TX Maxx more to look out for bargains like this!

Empties | October

I know this post is very late, it should have gone up yesterday but I ended up having a car accident (I'm okay don't worry!) so yesterday afternoon and evening kinda disappeared into me being in bed feeling rather sore and shaken up.

I know I said last month I was going to finish more products this month, I kind of managed it but not as successful as I had first hoped!
I finally used up my Soap and Glory Mist You Madly Body Spray, it has taken months to use this up. I do like the scent and have another that I have already started using, I find as it is a small thin plastic bottle with a nice spray rather than an aerosol, it is perfect for using as a top up during the day whilst at college. The spray makes it much more convenient as it doesn't make that horrible gassy aerosol smell like Impulse and the likes.

Superdrug Revitalising Raspberry & Macadamia Nut Conditioner, this I've had for such a long time and I use it as an alternate to shaving foam. It smells so nice, sweet but then not sickly as the macadamia makes it more of a creamy smell if that makes sense? I did use it on my hair for a few weeks but I found it didn't make a huge difference as it was just a bog standard cheap conditioner! I'm not in a hurry to repurchase this as I have so many other bottles of conditioner that I didn't like or came with hair dye to use up.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is a staple in my routine, I always use this cleanser because I know it is the best for my skin and I agree with every single thing that Liz Earle stands for. I had a tube this time which I like for the shape and how it looks, however I always have to cut them down to get out the last bit of product. Always a repurchase!

Avon White Lily Christmas Bauble Bubble Bath was a stocking filler from last year that I have slowly been using up. It had a fresh scent and was enjoyable to use to help me relax and rewind but still feeling fresh and clean like after an invigorating shower. I'm unsure if this is available this year but I strongly recommend any bubble baths from Avon there are so good!

Wednesday Wishlist | Tarte Cosmetics

Tarte Cosmetics Wishlist
Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Flush, Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation with BrushLights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara and Liquid Liner, Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment

Tarte Cosmetics used to be a brand that was impossible to get in the UK without extreme customs charges however thank you QVCUK who now stock Tarte Cosmetics. They is a limited range and I have never noticed any Limited Editions or seasonal products however the main basics are they. These are my 4 main favourites, I just wish they stocked more of the Blushes and preferably the Limited Editions ranges.

Haul | Tu at Sainsbury's

I've never bought clothes from Sainsbury's before, I always remember my clothes as a tween being from F&F at Tesco but it wasn't until Thursday when I went to Bury St Edmunds that I had ever bought from Tu - Sainsbury's own clothing line.
Tu Christmas Oh Deer Jumper
Tu Christmas Oh Deer Jumper
It was my mum who pointed out the jumper to me as it looked super soft, I'll live in jumpers from September onwards if I can and I thought it looked perfect for December months or just chilling at home. It is teddy bear material and is really super soft. I especially like how the detailing isn't a different harsher material but still super soft. Sainsbury's had 20% off all their clothing range until Monday so it only cost £12 instead of £16 but for the coziness of it, I would have happily paid the extra £4.
Tu Tartan Two Tone Blanket Scarf

I had also spent all day looking at tartan scarves and getting frustrated that I could only find £18+ scarves for 100% acrylic, if it's only acrylic, I'm not paying that much! Then I noticed this beauty, it's a thick blanket scarf that yes is also acrylic but at a much more affordable price of £12 before discount. This meant I'd saved myself 50% without loosing any style and personally it feels much thicker than its New Look counterpart. I also picked up these 2 scrunchies. Since dying my hair dark, I've been trying to take on as many of this year current trends as I can to spice up my wardrobe as I finally fit with the currents trends as my hair isn't an "abnormal/ unnatural" colour anymore so it suits more of the items. These were £3.50 before 20% off and they are standard velvet scrunchies. They also had berry red, forest green and a metallic peachy pink but after much contemplating Jeff picked these two up before heading to the DVD aisle. Boys hey? I like the colours though so I guess he was right!
Tu Velvet Hair Scrunchies
I would happily shop at Tu from Sainsbury's again and look out for more bargain dupes or just casual clothes whilst doing a food shop.

Review | Garnier Olia 4.0 Dark Brown Hair Dye

I've dyed my hair again! It took 2 attempts as I really could have done with a second box the first time, so the second time I only redid the top half of my hair. The colour I chose was a deep chocolate brown colour as I wanted a not quite black shade. Olia dyes come in a handy box that makes a stand for the bottle that can also be used a bowl to dip a tint brush in. I chose 4.0 which is available here.

Garnier Olia 4.0 Dark Brown Hair Dye
I've found that this dye doesn't seem to have done a lot of noticeable damage to my hair, after leaving it in TRESemmé Natural Conditioner for 20 minutes after dying the second time it felt 10 x better than using the Olia conditioner the first time. I think washing out the dye with your own conditioner before applying a hair mask or deep conditioning treatment.

Garnier Olia 4.0 Dark Brown Hair Dye
I'm really happy with the results as it has multi-tonal colours with highlights and matches my eyebrows perfectly (even though I'm naturally mousy brown on top, my eyebrows are much darker). I hope this colour lasts and doesn't fade as fast as Schwarzkopf Pure Purple (that is actually pinky red) as I don't want to dye my hair for another 7-8 weeks when Jeff is back at Christmas!
