Empties | September

I've tried my best to finish products this month but I seem to have done pretty poorly! It seems like quite a few will run out in October though so that might be quite a large post.I haven't finished any makeup products this month, it has all been skincare or similar.

An old favourite, Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator. I use this exfoliator everyday in the morning to brighten up my face and in the evenings if I have had a light or no makeup days. It has lots of tiny mineral grains that I feel really refresh my face! This is a staple in my skincare routine so this isn't the first time you've seen it in my empties!

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator
When organising my room with Jeff in the summer, I realised how many half started bottles of perfumes I had! Secret Fantasy Star was one of the first perfumes I wore when I grew out of the Impulse era of my life. I brought lots of these when I was 16-17 whenever it was on offer in Avon. I've finally finished this bottle, don't get me wrong, it is a lovely scent - it just didn't stay around for long. I couldn't smell it on myself after an hour or 2 which really got irritating especially as you can't always just reapply more perfume in class or at work! It has also gone up dramatically in price now, so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this I'm afraid.

Oral B 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste, yep another tube gone through! Blame Jeff, he seems to eat the stuff! I finished this tube in the middle of the month, and changed toothpaste to give it a try. I wish I hadn't... It really proved to me how much this toothpaste works! If you struggle with whitening, then this really is the toothpaste for you. In my morning rush however, I've managed to throw it away, so sorry no photo!

That was it for this month! I'm desperately trying to finish more this month as I really need to clear out some of my stash out! Toodle pip till next time! xxx

12 things I'm most excited about this Autumn Winter!

I love Autumn Winter, I'm not just saying it. In the Summer I get too hot and I hate it however in Winter, you can keep adding more and more layers till you're super cosy!
I'm super excited about these things because basically I'm a big kid at heart!

1) Candle season
2) Drinking mochalattes in the street
3) Spending Halloween watching scary films with Jeff
4) Eating warm custard on strudel
5) Berry lips
6) Dark nails
7) Warm snuggly jumpers
9) Spending Christmas together with Jeff for the first time in our whole relationship (I'm very excited for this!)
10) Going to Milton Keynes when the Christmas displays are up
11) Holiday collections
12) The amount of toast I can eat...

I know some of them are a bit strange but it's what I'm really looking forward to! I'm hoping it'll snow this year as I've missed it a bit, the photos are ones I took last time it snowed!

Review | The Library of Fragrance Gingerbread Cologne Spray*

Firstly, don't be put off by the description of Cologne instead of Perfume, this is a lovely scent, which is basically a perfume and can definitely be worn by women! The Library of Fragrance describes their scents as 'Simple. Subtle. Singular Scents. Each Day. Everywhere' well they are right. I know I chose to trial Gingerbread because I wanted a lovely scent suitable for the season however if you aren't a Christmas lover like me, or just don't want to smell like Gingerbread then there are plenty of other scents.

This scent smells like soft gingerbread, it gave me the same feeling of when you're a child and your mum buys you a gingerbread man because you behaved well that day - anyone else's mum do that? I know I still love gingerbread and this gives me the subtle reminder that Christmas is less than 3 months away! Eeeeeek!

The Library of Fragrance took New York by storm and now are after revolutionising the way that the UK wears their fragrances. They are many usual scents in the range, some standard scents such as Cherry Blossom and Jasmine but there also quite a few wild cards such as Sex on The Beach and Whiskey Tobacco.

I love how The LoF have really thought about all kinds of women who wish to wear all sorts of scents, from musky to sweet and everything in between. Since September 9th they have been stocked in Boots stores and online and are currently on 2 for £25 deal (instore only)
or £15 each. For 30ml of fragrance, this price is amazing! There are only 28 scents of the 101 scents available from LoF themselves online. Another great thing with these fragrances is they can be mixed, if you like gingerbread and marshmallows, mix the two scents and the creation will smell just as good as the real thing!

I'm already trying to decide which scents to buy my Mum and Gran for Christmas as they will love them! If you are undecided about which scents to choose head to the LoF Facebook, Instagram or Twitter page for some help!

Wednesday Wishlist | River Island

I haven't done a Wednesday Wishlist in a while and after stalking the River Island instagram page I thought I would give the website a look around, quite hard not to spend any money but I'm saving it for the MAC Rocky Horror release on the 2nd!

River Island Autumn Winter 2014
Tartan Blanket Scarf, Dinosaur Dior Tee, Red Dogtooth Leggings,  Tote Bag, Croc Cut Out Boots, Croc Bowler Bag, Full Time Fashion Blogger JumperBlack Love Tee, Burnout Cold Shoulder Tee
I am so glad I did! All these are amazing and I really want them all! Also has anyone else notices this year's following to the GEEK tees everyone wore? It is the 'Today's Outfit' tees and jumpers, I think they look really good for a lazy day to be honest and think it is much more wearable after many people being very rude to all/some of the girls who bought GEEK tees. I think all of these items are perfect for Autumn Winter and I'm definitely hoping to cross a few off of my list!

Review | Herbal Essences Clearly Naked 0% Dry Shampoo

When you wonder around Superdrug trying to burn time and you see lots of lovely new releases on offer, how do you resist? If you saw yesterday's post about Barry M Gelly Autumn Winter Colours, I bought this at the same time. I can't help myself, introductory offers are such a weakness of mine.

For £1.49, I received ml of dry shampoo that doesn't leave an awful white mark in my hair and my hair doesn't feel like someone has smothered me in talc either. I am so far preferring this to Batiste, a lot. I find it absorbing more oils and giving my hair a fresher look than Batiste does.

If I tie my hair up for college then recieve an Indian Head Massage (I'm a trainee beauty therapist, I'm not at a school where you just randomly have massages haha!) then you get a fair bit of oil in there and it really isn't pleasant. Off I go to the changing rooms, spray up and you're all ready to go again! It is also a slimmer bottle than Batiste which makes it so much easier to fit into that spare space in your bag.

The 0% Clearly Naked range from Herbal Essence contains no parabens, colourants or silicone (shampoos only) which makes it amazing for your hair. Silicone can give a plasticy feel to hair making you believe that it shiny and soft but it's not, someone just covered your hair in plastic, you pooey shampoo people! You do receive 20ml less than a standard Batiste can for the same RRP but I find that the benefits away the slight cost difference.Buy here!

Review | Barry M Gelly Autumn Winter 2014 range in Cocoa

I have never tried a Gelly polish from Barry M purely because I was on a nail polish ban. I couldn't buy anymore as my collection was getting out of hand until now. I am a loving of dark colours all year round and only wore black or navy nails for 8 months in 2012 so it's nice that there are dark colours with lovely finishes available for Christmas!

I spotted these colours in Cambridge when I was with my mum, the same day I was naughty and bought a few other things. I picked up my favourite 3 as they were on offer for 3 for 2 in Superdrug - who can resist an offer?

I picked up Cocoa, Chai and Paprika but this weekend's choice is Cocoa! It is a deep chocolate colour, reminds me of Chocolate labradors! As I've seen from other Gelly reviews, it is a high shine finish however after a morning of Granny supervising and food shopping I can see a few chips and knocks coming away but it'll be the real test when I go to work tonight.

I know this seems like a waste considering it is a Gelly polish but I really wonder what it will look like under a matte top coat! Have you started shopping for Autumn Winter yet?

Still on 3 for 2, buy the range here!

Review | Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Atomic Rose

Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Atomic Rose
These were released recently promising the staying power of the Apocalips but matte and I picked up a shade whilst they were on buy 1 get 1 half price. As I always go shopping with mum, deals like this save us money and we both can get a treat. I kinda wish I had picked up a darker colour as it is heading to Autumn Winter but I really liked the look of this peachy nude and thought I would give it a go! Before you see my lip swatches, please don't judge my onesie - I couldn't decide what to wear haha!
Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Atomic Rose
I had hopes for this matte lacquer, thinking it would be amazing as Lime Crime or other known matte brands, but I'm unsure. As you can see the swatch is definitely matte but on the lips it looks quite shiny? Is it me? I think you may have to apply without balm first but then I'm concerned it will be very drying.

Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Atomic Rose
It lasts me around 4 hours before reapplying and including a quick sausage roll so it goes as well done to Rimmel, definitely think I'll be getting more from the collection! The application was also really easy and I had time to neaten up mistakes before it set as well the sponge not being annoyingly big.
Rimmel Matte Apocalips in Atomic Rose

Buy here for £6.49 and currently on offer 2 for £10!

Review | Your Dreamcatcher Joggers*

I got sent these lovely joggers from Your Dreamcatcher to trial and wow they are lovely! Now I've started back at college in inner city Cambridge, I feel so icky and grubby when I get in :( however after a lovely warm shower straight in these I get!

Your Dreamcatcher is a new brand of leisurewear and they have an icon dreamcatcher logo on all their products. There is a range of tops and joggers, which I kindly recieved!
Your Dreamcatcher Joggers

They are fitted joggers so I don't feel as slobby as some really baggy ones can make you but at the same time I am so cozy and comfy! They have a lovely fleecy inside and a cute dreamcatcher motif on the hip - super super chic!

I can't wait to get the matching vest my bank balance isn't crying after only working 1 weekend in August and spending a lot of money on holidays and I think if the vests are as nice as the joggers then I will be in the comfiest clothes. I've popped down to the Budgens in my village in these and I don't feel like I'm trying to look tired and lazy but I feel just the same as if I went in leggings, except cozier!
Your Dreamcatcher Joggers

The sizes are a bit large, I have a size 10 even though I normally wear a 12 or a 30" waist jean so that makes me feel better, plus the elasticated waist is really nice too! They do come up very big, I'm struggling with the size round the waist but any smaller and the bottom will be too big! I've sadly now got a stain on mine from where I spilt my dinner on them so unfortunately you may see them.
Follow them on Twitter here and buy here!

I'm a Trainee Beauty Therapist?

This last year has been a lot of work for me, I left Sixth Form College in the October when I fell ill and then I spent the rest of the year trying to work enough so that I could earn enough money but also not to put too much strain on my body before it felt dead. I've 3 jobs this last year and finally have stuck to one for 6 months now :)

I had some plans to go to college in September, but I wasn't sure they were going to work out as people didn't always understand why I left Sixth Form, especially teachers. I hadn't applied till July and then I never heard when my interview was till last Saturday! I went in on Tuesday and started my course on Wednesday! It's crazy!

As I'm 18, I'm one of the oldest in my class, most being 16 or 17 but I really fit in well. I've made good friends with one girl and starting to branch out to the rest of the class. I'm studying BTEC Level 3 in Beauty Therapy Science and wow is it a lot of work. I have assignments, practical assessment, homework, revision, the same as people do who study A-Levels as this course is equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

This week I've learnt a basic facial and a basic back massage and I loved every minute. There are 14 girls in my class and we all get on very well and I prefer the smaller class size to be honest! I'm still waiting for my uniform and kit to arrive but I can't wait to use my beauty therapist knowledge on my blog and vice versa :D So if there is a delay in posting that's why, I'm a bit under with school work!

Review | Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer

I love me a good eyeshadow primer and I think all oily lidded, thin skinned girls do too! My lids are so thin and need a thick creamy primer to cover these up! However with having an oily t-zone, my eyelids are also really oily!

Eyeshadow or liner without a good base will last me an hour before it starts smearing and disappearing :( I've loved my All About Betty eye primer for months but some days I need more than a £1.50 eye primer!
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer

My best friend Becca gave me the Benefit Primping with Stars kit for my birthday and Stay Don't Stray was a favourite of mine when I went to visit my boyfriend for his birthday and needed minis of everything that I could take in my cabin allowance! I loved how in that hot European summer sun my makeup lasted all day.

I won an £80 gift card for ASOS from the lovely Kate from The Minted Beauty and Benefit is sold at ASOS so I basically got this for free! I would have paid the usual RRP of £20.50 but it makes so much better it was a gift from Kate/ASOS.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer
It has a sponge applicator, basically like a concealer, which you dab 3 times above and then 3 times under your eye, blend and there is a base for your eyeshadow and concealer. If I've slept well, I can get away with using this as a concealer as it such a good match for my skin tone.

Benefit Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer Swatch

I definitely recommend buying this if you want something a bit thicker than Urban Decay Primer Potion, as this has concealing properties. Available from Benefit, Debenhams, John Lewis and ASOS.

Review | Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in #215 Shameless

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms who doesn't love them? I definitely prefer these to the lacquer balms but this may because the only colour I have got is a really vivid hot pink (Vivacious) and after seeing my mum use hers (Demure) which is a pinky nude,  I might give them another go however... Shameless is my first ever vibrant purple lip colour and I love it. I bought it in Westfield Stratford and I really love it!
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless

I used the whole time my boyfriend was with me as I could eat, drink and happily kiss him without worrying about having to reapply. The way the balm fades is perfect for nights out as it leaves an even ombré look without having to be a makeup artist. I haven't tried this with a lip liner yet but it may make it drying compared to it's current non-drying formula.
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless Swatch

It is very close dupe for MAC's Heroine, so if you haven't got enough pennies this month and want to join the purple lip craze ready for Autumn buy Shameless for half the price! Revlon is currently on offer in Boots at 3 for 2 here and in store! £7.99 for a long lasting product is amazing. I haven't needed to even twist up for more product yet!

Review | Explicit Content Palette from I ♥ Makeup

I told you yesterday in my monthly favourites that this post would be coming soon! I bought this palette in a big Marble Arch Superdrug Haul where I finally got to buy I ♥ Makeup and Makeup Revolution in all it's glory instore :D I loved it!
Explicit Content Palette I ♥ Makeup

Anyway the palette. 32 shades, covering shimmers and mattes with a wide range of colours. I only figured out a couple of days ago that if you use a column at a time, it gives you a great eye look! You can obviously pick and choose your shadows (who needs rules hey?) but I think that I ♥ Makeup really thought about this palette design.

Explicit Content Palette I ♥ Makeup
The pigmentation is great for a cheap palette at  £7.99 available here and in selected Superdrug stores. I did do these swatches with a slightly damp finger to enhance the colours and wow was it much better than when they are dry, however don't let you dismay. My eyelids are a lot softer and less pigmented skin than my hands so I have never applied the shadows wet on my eyes and it still looks amazing.

I really recommend buying this palette as soon as you can as the shades are perfect for the Autumn transition. Now for the photos, as I swatched every colour there are a lot of photos but please bare with me!

Favourites | August

Favourites time! I was a bit naughty this month and spent a lot of money... I have so many hauls and reviews to do but let's stick to one blog post at a time. My favourites this month are all drugstore which will be really helpful for those on a budget :) Sorry about all the different photo locations, light was really against me.

I ♥ Makeup Explicit Content Palette - £8

I ♥ Makeup Parental Guidance Palette
I ♥ Makeup Parental Guidance Palette

This palette will have a full review soon but it really is my favourite palette of the month. I bought it in Superdrug Marble Arch when I went to London - post here - and even though it was part of a Makeup Revolution/ I ♥ Makeup haul that I have yet to post (whoops) it was my favourite of them all. 32 shades for £8 is amazing! The colours are mainly shimmer but there are a few mattes thrown in. With light pinks to deep blues and blacks, there are colours for everyone. I won't say anymore as there will be a review very very soon. Buy here.

Revlon Photoready Makeup in 004 Nude - £12.99

Revlon Photoready Makeup in 004 Nude
Revlon Photoready Makeup in 004 Nude Swatch

This was also bought in London this month but when I went to Stratford rather than in the centre of London. I was a bit unsure I had actually picked up the right shade after so much swatching but I did! It is a tiny bit light at the moment on some days but now it is okay, and bronzer never stopped me. It gives such a flawless finish and I apply it with my Zoeva Rose Gold Silk Finish brush, It is a bit pricer than some drugstore foundations but it is definitely worth it in my opinion. Buy here.

MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit in Dark - £3.50

MUA Pro-Brow Ultimate Eyebrow Kit in Dark

After using an ancient YBF eyebrow pencil that I'm not even sure you can buy anymore, and then I used a Rimmel brow pencil which was amazing when my hair was really dark but as soon as I went blonde and then pink it was blatantly too dark. I spent about 15 minutes looking at every brow kit in Superdrug until my boyfriend decided that I would have this one as he thought it looked like the right thing and it was cheap. It is amazing and I use my Wilko angled eyeliner brush to apply it to my brows followed by Miss Sporty Clear Mascara. I'm interested to see what shades are in the light/medium kit as that wasn't in stock at the time just to see if there is a slightly less reddish brown that this can sometimes appear. Buy here. (sorry it's currently out of stock but check in store!)

Today is a good day!

Some exciting news! As some of you may know if you follow my twitter (self promo here) that I passed my driving test today! I was so happy and relieved as this was my second attempt at passing my test, one happy girl :D

Also I've been hiding something that I am really hoping goes to plan and you'll find out more next week but it's really exciting and I can't wait to share. If you've followed me for some time then you may know what it is about, but I really hope it goes to plan.

I tried taking my kittens for a walk earlier and one of them has really cut up my chest as it was frightened by a car, do any of you lovely angels know how to cover up little cuts? Please comment below if you do! Monthly Favourites are coming tomorrow :)
