March Glossybox 2014

I know I didn't make a February GlossyBox Review, I'm sorry, I was so caught up with everything it become to late to do one! Please comment below if you want me to do a post, it's really up to you guys!

This month box wasn't made for a certain occasion so the box was the usual pale pink outer! The contents was ups and downs for me but it could have been worse I guess...

1) Sleek Pout Polish (948 Chocolate Kiss) - £4.49 for 10g
(Full Size) This was the pre-release from Glossybox and had been advertised for a week or two before they were released. I was super looking forward to receiving it but then when I got it in Chocolate Kiss I was disappointed. I know that sounds bad but I hate brown on lips. It just doesn't work, a brown gloss makes me feel ill, so that's a shame. I can maybe try and work it as a gloss over a lipstick but for a product that should be worn on it's own, it's not for me in this shade.

2) Mitchell and Peach Body Cream - £36 for 180ml

(Sample Size) In all the reviews I've read of this month's Glossybox, they have moaned about this product. Whereas I actually really like it; it smells like floral mixed with a fruity soft scent. I really like it as it reminds me of British smells. I would love to get the full size of this if it wasn't so expensive!

3) Bellapierre Cosmetics Ltd Shimmer Powder (SP071 Storm) - £12.99 for 2.35g

(Full Size) I love the smokey eye look, it has been my go to eye look since last year when I brought the Collection Smokey Eye Palette  so with a high end silver shimmer eyeshadow, I'm in love. I used it today with simple eyeliner wings and loved it! It has sheek packaging, I can't beat black packaging as it just looks so professional.

4) Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion - £37.50 for 150ml
(Sample Size) I know nothing about tanning, I never get past a shade of Paper White so I don't dare using self tanning lotion as I would always look strange with it! So this is going to be one to leave till a friend wants it I think!

5) Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot - £1.49 for 15ml
(Full Size) I recently bleached the ends of my hair twice so I really could use this! So next time I have more than a minute to myself I'm definitely going to use this across the half of my head I ombred. Definitely is needed! Dove is meant to be quite good for haircare even I haven't used any Dove product apart from deodorant so this will be a good time to try out their range!

So that was this months box, wasn't great but wasn't awful, think it was just a bad luck in my department :(

Primark Haul!

I went to Primark last weekend and I've been loving the new ranges out there at the moment - it's just a shame I was on a very limited budget!!!

I should have done a haul earlier but it's been a very busy time with two jobs so blogging came last unfortunately :(

PLEASE NOTE: MY BLOG IS UNDER RECONSTRUCTION AND IS NOT FINISHED YET WHICH IS WHY IT LOOKS A BIT DODGY!!

1) Nirvana T-Shirt - £7.00

I love band shirts, it has to be of a band I like and I do actually like Nirvana! I have also been looking for a got to t-shirt for when I'm in a hurrying and just want something I can put on with leggings, jeans or shorts (with tights!) and with this top being longer at the back making it a nice shape to wear with leggings. It is a lightweight t-shirt that is a very soft touch – yes it may be a bit steep a £7 for a lightweight top but that is because it has the band logo and all the copyright rubbish!

2) Floral print fronted shorts - £6.00 (I think!)

Last summer it get really hot around me and I had to quickly buy some shorts and being in denim shorts all summer wasn't very comfy for sitting around all day. Plus now I have my Netherlands trip where it will be even warmer there I wanted to get a pair I could wear around the house of even dress up enough to wear out when it's really warm and we are just going out casually. Around the house you can wear these with whatever you want and the same as going out, it’s your choice! I'm thinking about wearing a squared t-shirt or a vest top so I don't have to boil when I go out for casual days outs!

3) Pyjama set - £8.00

Primark Pink and Grey Flannel Short PyjamasPrimark Pink and Grey Pyjama Vest
Primark Pink and White Flannel Short Pyjamas

I bought these specifically for when I go to Holland just after Easter. It will be a lot warmer then and I don't really want to end up sleeping in my underwear around my boyfriend's parents! So I bought these cute grey vest and pink flannel shorts set so I could be cool but cute! I love pyjamas as when I buy them I normally end up living in them as much as possible! I am determined to make these last the next 5 weeks before I go unworn but I'm not sure I’ll make it!

4) Underwear - Various

I also brought a lot of underwear in Primark which I'm not going to photo but I wanted to include as Primark underwear has a bad name in my opinion! I love the single knickers you can buy in there as it is available in all different styles and sizes so no matter you’re shape or your style 9 times out of 10 you can buy what you want to! I go for the lace style ones due to way they fit really well under leggings and they are true to sizing. And at £1 each I came away with 5 pairs!

I also brought a paired underwear set which including a bra and 1 pair of knickers – this is where you have to be careful in Primark. I wear a 34 C/D and this comes with size 10-12 knickers however I remember going in with a friend and buying a 36C that for some reason came with a pair of 16-18 knickers! I think this is very unfair of Primark as I don't believe that wearing a 36 is a very big ribcage size so then you end up with a pair of knickers you can’t wear. Always check the sizing of the knickers on set of underwear from Primark as it may be better value for money if you buy them individually. It could cost more by a pound or two but you get to be able to wear what you bought!

So that's what I brought!

Liebster Award #03!! And 200 followers!!!

So this is the third Liebster Award I've been nominated for!!! Thank you so much Kayla from Beauty Blur for the nomination!
The rules seemed to have slightly changed from my other two and now you have to include 11 facts about yourself as well, so okay gives you all a chance to get to know me better!

I've just hit 200 followers as well so I'm super excited!! Thank you so much!

The rules are:

  1. Provide a link back to the blogger who nominated you
  2. Post 11 random facts about you
  3. Answer 11 random questions set by the blogger who nominated you
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers with under 200 followers for the award (excluding who nominated you)
  5. Let the nominees know that you have nominated them

11 random facts about me!

  1. I quit college in October 2013, so I actually don't have that many qualifications even though I was an A* (A+) pupil throughout high school
  2. I met my boyfriend online and we will be soon happily 8 months together even though we live 213 miles apart.
  3. I never use to wear makeup till I was in the last year of high school, except for dance shows.
  4. I danced until I was 16 1/2, including 3 times on the Butlins Skegness Main Stage haha!!
  5. My favourite series is The Client List, even though it is finished now it had me in tears of laughter, sadness and joy! It's so good but not for younger viewers!!
  6. 6. I keep a diary that I use about 3 times a day to keep track of my work schedule and personal events!
  7. I'm a maths nerd, I literally love it and it's one of the only things I miss about school.
  8. I'm a raspberry addict - I eat them every single time I can!
  9. I redecorated my room all on my own and built new furniture till the finishing touches on the last day where my best friend came to help!
  10. Barely anyone in my personal life knows this blog exists!
  11. I have 3 cats, that I love to bits!!

My questions from Kayla

       1. What are you most passionate about?

This is a really hard question to answer as I don't really see myself being passionate about anything at the moment, it used to be dance, then it was school, now I guess it's blogging.I get really grumpy if I don't have to blog - like this week - due to my work schedule. I love every aspect of being on social media, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter - they are all my best friends and working somewhere that has not internet signal is really annoying me because I love keeping people updated and I love seeing what everyone else does!

 2. What is one thing no one would know about you from your blog?

The one thing no one would know about me is that I love playing games, not just Sims 2, but I love Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, and loads of other games that I play on my laptop - mainly with my boyfriend! I even like World of Warcraft - don't judge me!!!

3. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I love to write. My boyfriend saw how much I loved watching YouTube videos from beauty and fashion bloggers, then I started linking him to blog posts that I really liked and he suggested I start my own as I was unemployed and getting bored with just watching tv all day everyday!

4. Who or what are you most inspired by and why?

I am most inspired by people I see on the bloggersphere! For fashion and beauty looks, I love the blogger Viras from Sweden, her style is amazing and I would love to look like her! For personal things I'm not really inspired by anyone to do anything really, I sort of go with what I want to do, that seems really up myself but I just don't have an answer sorry!!

5. Where do you live now and where would you live if you could pick any place? Why?

I live in a small village near Cambridge in England which is nice but boring! And no I am definitely not the stereotype Cambridge University student material - which is a bit of OTT stereotype because when you actually go into Cambridge most of the students seem pretty normal!
I would live in Hoorn, The Netherlands (it's north of Amsterdam), it's a really pretty town that has quite a lot of history and has a really beautiful dyke and docks -  I love it so much and I want to live there because it's really near to my boyfriend and his family who I love to pieces!!

6. What are the 3 most important things to you in life? Why?

1. My boyfriend - he's been there through everything from me being seriously ill to my happiest moments, he's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time.
2. My cats - I know it sounds stupid but they are literally my therapists to my best friends to my cuddle buddies! I love all 3 of them and I'm desperate to add a new baby to the group
3. Music - it calms me, it excites me and makes me laugh and dance - without being able to tune out the world through loud speakers or noise cancelling headphones I'd go insane!

7. Does the future scare you or excite you? Why?

The near future - excites me, the distant future - terrifies me! I'm a planner, always have been since I was younger apparently (such a cool kid me). You can't plan the distant future or how it will turn out and that is really scary!

8. What is your favourite type of blog to read?

My favourite type of blog to read is beauty and fashion reviews! I love being able to find how to wear stuff or best products to use that I wouldn't have thought of! It's made me more confident to try different things!

9. Who is the most important person, that you know, in your life? (Meaning no celebrities but someone you actually have a relationship with.)

My boyfriend! I know this sounds crazy but he meant me at a really bad patch of my life and made it so much better and then even though just 2 months into our relationship I gave him many reasons to leave me and I was really ill so could barely be a good support for him, he stayed and told me many times he would do it all over again!

10. What is one thing that you like and dislike about blogging?

One thing I like about blogging is being able to share so much with others. The one thing I dislike is all the pressure to post all the time, as it isn't my job to blog so I have many other commitments and sometimes it can feel like I have to blog at a certain time not just when I want to!

11. Where do you want to be in 10 years?

In 10 years I want to have at least one child if not 2 and be happily married and working in the veterinary industry whether it be as a veterinary nurse or in clinical pharmaceuticals :)

My 11 nominees!

2. Belle
3. Eloise
5. Lisa
6. Ellen
7. Ash
9. Laura
10. Nicole
11. Amy

My questions to my nominees!

1. What's the main thing you have in your handbag?
2. Favourite animal and why?
3. Partying or cozy night in?
4. iPhone or Android?
5. You win £1000/ $1000 on a scratch card what do you do first?
6. Piercings - yay or nay?

Can't wait to see your answers!

MAC Pink Nouveau Lipstick Review

My first ever MAC lipstick is finally in my hands!! All thanks to Rosie from itsalljustrosie.blogspot.co.uk who had a 500 follower giveaway and I was lucky enough to win any lipstick from MAC’s main range :D I was a very happy girl when I saw her tweet that I had won!

I chose Pink Nouveau as it is a Satin finish which is one of my favourite lipstick types and because I recently started using Collection Deluxe Lipstick in Shade 2 which was the first real Barbie-esque pink lipstick I had used – I normally used much darker colours. Pink Nouveau is definitely a Barbie Pink and when I first went onto the MAC website to tell which colour I wanted if I won it drew my attention straight away!

As all MAC lipsticks, it comes in the black bullet casing which I am now displaying, pride of place, in my bedroom. It applies easily and lasts for a fair few hours; I put it on last night as soon as I opened the parcel with it in and fell in love. It lasted me till I went to bed about 5 hours later and I ate and drank in that time so that was really nice!

I definitely want to continue my MAC lipstick collection now I've started it due to the kindness of others! I can't list the other lipsticks I would like to add to my collection as there are just so many others to choose from so I’d end up going into the store when I next have the money and browse for ages!

You can buy Pink Nouveau from MAC, Debenhams or any other stocker of MAC for £15.

Wednesday Wishlist #08

So yesterday was the official release day of the Nicole x Missguided range, but there was a early release on Monday for those special customers who asked nicely haha! I fell in love with the clothes are soon as I saw them so this week's wishlist will all be from Missguided but not all from the new Nicole Scherzinger range!

1) Fishnet Jumper - Nicole x Missguided - £25

This was the first item I saw from the Nicole range and I love it! I think it'll be really nice for summer when you get bored of wearing sleeveless tops in the summer and want something a little different! I think it would also look good over a spaghetti strap cami (you know the ones I mean from Primark!) or just a bandeau, not confident for it just to be a bra like it is shown on the model! For £25 it is a bit expensive for what it is but hopefully that means it won't fall apart like other fishnet stuff is known too!!

Buy here!

2) Long Sleeve Fishnet Crop Top - Nicole x Missguided - £20

Yes I know basically the same thing as the last one... but it is different! Try explaining that to your boyfriend but I really like both! Due it being a crop top it is a lot tighter than the jumper. In the Summer I brought a lot of crop tops and fell in love with them eventually by getting the confidence to wear them when I was holiday and away from everyone I knew if it didn't go well!! Yes I did carry a spare top in my bag just in case I panicked - I'm silly I know! I think that this can be made more formal than the jumper by pairing it with a simple smart mini skirt or if you prefer midi skirt than exactly how the model is wearing it! For some reason I think this looks quite good with a bra or a bralet top underneath due to it being tighter than the jumper so it doesn't look like you left some of your clothes at home!

Buy here!

3) Florencia Black Skater Dress - Missguided - £14.99

I don't really wear many dresses in winter because I never really found one that would be warm enough that I liked! But summer dresses are becoming more my thing, especially as more grunge clothing is coming in compared to just bright, pastel or floral dresses being available for summer! This is my favourite summer dress I have seen! It's short, black and relaxed! There is nothing else I can say!

Buy here!

4) Trevita Lace Up Ankle Heel Boots - Missguided - £37.99

After seeing the dress above, I instantly wanted some shoes to wear with it! I already have a pair of Dr Martens in Matt Black but I would love something a bit more feminine. I am rather tall at 5 foot 10, but with my boyfriend being 6 foot 4 - I think I can get away with these! I hate hiding away from heels because I am tall when I still love these shoes! I would maybe get a slightly smaller heel but I would really like these shoes! I love military/lace up boots that all around at the moment and I have a similar pair without a heel from La Redoute but they wouldn't quite go because they look very military!

Buy here!

And that's my current Missguided wishlist!! If you haven't brought anything from Missguided before you really should! I love their stuff and wish I could afford more!!

Ted Baker Collection

After winning an almost perfect condition Ted Baker Purse on eBay during last week I thought it was time to share my small but lovely collection. Ted Baker is a brand that I have always had eyes for but never been able to afford at full price!

This first Ted Baker product I ever owned was the small wash bag that me and my best friend got each other for Christmas last year when we went to London at the start of December for her 17th Birthday. She likes the baby pink collection but I personally prefer the black collections as I am so prone to spilling things or the lids being opened and emptying out and that is much easier to clean off of black than baby pink! I use this as a makeup bag everytime I go out as it is a nice shape that fits in whatever bag I have and is big enough to hold my Real Techniques Powder BrushThe now available equivalent is £22 and can be found here

After using this for so much I realised when I went away and wanted a wash bag that could hold shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. This would much better so I brought one. The design has already changed with a new release so the bow is a different shape but it is still the icon TB bow and that’s what I like! Another reason why TB bags are good for makeup and toiletries is because the wipe clean PVC outer and the material used for the lining is really easy to clean as well! The now available equivalent is £29 and can be found here

Just before I went back to college in January 2013, I was looking for a new college bag and well there was a special discount at Ted Baker for students so I got about 20 or 30 percent off, I can't remember how much in particular but I know it allowed me to get the bag I really wanted which is the Ted Baker Iconic Shopper Bag, also in black. Unfortunately the strap came away within 30 days of buying the bag however I went back into the store and they exchanged it with no problem at all and this bag has lasted me well! The now available equivalent is £45 and can be found here

Then finally I got hold of a Ted Baker purse that didn't cost me the whole really expensive £75 but a much nicer £40! eBay is my best friend as long as you make sure your seller is reputable, and doesn't get lots of bad reviews then stay well clear! Also with designer products the best thing to do is to check all the photos and message the seller if you have any concerns about whether they are real or knock off products! I was really lucky, my seller was really communicative, helpful and my purse arrived within two days and I love it so much!! It’s black to match all my collection and has a really nice metallic pastel pink interior with the bull dog printed material lining on the purse sections. I couldn't have found a better purse and I'm so glad I went to eBay rather than spending almost double on a new purse that wasn't me! The now available equivalent is £75 and can be found here

Out of all the cosmetic and bath/body ranges Ted Baker I have only tried one body spray, Butterfly Wings, but I do love it and have actually almost run out of it although it does last quite a while for a spray and eliminates smells too! I did have the mini travel size one but I was nice and gave the other half of the bottle to my mum when she mentioned she liked the scent of the bigger bottle :) It is available here for £6.

That's all I have! I would like to expand my collection, maybe going into the world of the bath/body ranges but I guess I'll have to wait and see!

February Favourites

Whoops should have done this sooner, but better late than never! February was a busy month for me but I have got everything back onto track now which means I can get back to focusing some more attention of my blog :)

1) YBF Creative Eye Shadow Quad

YBF Creative Eye Shadow Quad

YBF Creative Eye Shadow Quad

YBF Creative Eye Shadow Quad

I have fallen in love with this over the last couple of weeks, it has 4 tones: a cream (Creme), a matte brown (Fawn), a shimmer dark brown (Chestnut) and a shimmery dark black brown (Ombre). This is really good for days where I want a neutral eye or a brown smokey eye look. I have been using this with the YBF brown eyeliner over my top lash line to finish off the look. I use the cream colour as a highlighter on my brow bone and inner corner of my eye. It can also be use a highlighter on your skin along your nose and chin, the same way the brown can be used as eyebrow filler but I don't have the patience for that.

I can't actually find this anymore, but my mum originally brought this off QVC.

2) Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 05

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick 5

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick 5Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick 5

This lipstick is good for any look that I have in my cupboard. I have worn this to work, out shopping and meals out. It is a bright pink with a slight shimmer to it. It works well with brown neutral eyes as well as a shimmery smokey eye look (my two favourite looks right now!). I think it would work well with the pastel eye trends of spring as it is will help add colour to your face.

3) Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation in Ivory 2

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Ivory 2 FoundationCollection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Ivory 2 Foundation

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Ivory 2 Foundation

I first bought this foundation in May 2013 but never really used it because it didn't match my skin tone and I found it quite cakey and obvious I was wearing it. However this was when I used my fingers to apply foundation and it didn't quite work well. I now use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply my foundation and concealer it applies and looks really good!

It gives me flawless coverage which does last for a very long time! It says on the bottle that it lasts for up to 16 hours – because I get tired really easily I have never really been relying on makeup to last 16 hours however when I worked all day last week then went to my friend’s house for some food in the evening I didn't feel like I had to re-apply my makeup when I looked in the mirror, I just added some powder, lipstick and perfume and off I went!

This is much nicer than other foundations I have used when it wears off or looks really cakey no matter how much primer/blending you used! I actually saved the last bit in my bottle to take and leave at my boyfriend's when I saw it was on offer as a re-release in Superdug earlier last week!

4) Beauty UK Baked Blush Box No 2 - Rose Rouge

Beauty UK Baked Boxed Blush Rose Rouge 2

Beauty UK Baked Boxed Blush Rose Rouge 2

With it slowly changing into Spring and everyone and their wife has been released their Spring Summer range, I want to brighten up my look! I really am loving this boxed blush after finally opening my eyes to blusher in October. They are really pigmented for a cheap blush. And I love the boxed packaging, I would buy more Benefit products if only I could afford them! There is a mirror in the box which really helps if you want touch ups on the move as it saves carrying an extra mirror. I think I will definitely get some more of these when I have some more money to spend as it is making me want the whole range, they are just that good!

There won't be a February Empties this month as I haven't actually run out of anything which is really nice for a change!

Wednesday Wishlist #07

As I'm getting closer to getting paid work again, I get more exciting and wishful, it's not a good move as I keep wanting to buy things now!

1) Ciate Dolls House Nail Polish Set - Selfridges £18.00

When I was younger my mum went to a nail salon that only used Ciate polishes and I never realised till when I received my February Glossybox (review will be soon I promise!) how amazing these were. I love the cute shape of the bottle and how professional they look and perform. Light pastels are on trend this year so this set has been produced by Ciate to fill the trend. The packaging is adorable too which will be nice to display in my bedroom!

2) Soap & Glory Show Good Face 2in1 Foundation and Primer - Boots £11.00

I've been wanting to try out the Soap and Glory makeup products for a little while now but not been sure what to try. As I love trying different foundations and I'm looking for new primers, I think this will be the one for me! It's a 2 in 1 so it will save on costs but I'm not sure if whether it will hold my foundation and give good coverage or it may end up being lightweight or the same as any other foundation (minus primer). I would buy in Nude Peach, the 3rd lightest in the range, as it looks similar to the Ivory shades you tend to find.

3) Sleek Corrector and Concealer Palette - Sleek £7.99

Sleek are well known in the beauty industry, especially the blogger network, as it is affordable and good quality. Yes the blushes are crazed about the most but I'm interested in the new idea of palettes of concealer. I think they've been around for a while but I think there were all a bit crappy compared to lipstick and liquid concealers. Now they seem to be getting a lot better and as I apply my concealer with a brush anyway so I don't think that will annoy me!

I would buy this is Shade 1 as the colours look very similar to my current concealer and powder.
